The Teaser: 3-Team Breakdown
Leg 1: Panthers +9 (teased from +3)
Arguably no one in the league is poised to regress harder than the Chicago Bears, last year’s front runner in Luck Ratings who are already dealing with injuries at multiple levels of their defense. A group who severely underwhelmed last season, finishing their 2025 campaign ranked well below league average in Def DVOA, EPA, and in Success Rate.
Caleb Williams also flirted with disaster every time he released the ball, ranking 21st in QB EPA per play, 36th in CPOE, and 34th in Bad Throw Percentage. With negative regression looming large, the Carolina Panthers will be able to capitalize on his Turnover Worthy Plays and set themselves up with generous field position, leading to an uptick in their total number of scoring opportunities to help stay within the number.
Leg 2: Colts +9 (teased from +3)
While the Bears are trending down, the Indianapolis Colts are trending up with health back on their side. Before Daniel Jones went down with a season ending injury, the Colts were in a tier of their own on offense, comfortably leading the league in Off DVOA. A stunning revelation, one that was backed up by Jones play on the field, hovering near the top of the board in EPA per play, CPOE, and in Air Yards/Reception.
Jones ability to stretch the field will be crucial in the Colts chances of covering the teased spread in their matchup against the Baltimore Ravens, stretching out a second level to help create wider running lanes in the middle for Jonathan Taylor to exploit. Especially if the Ravens star DT Nnamdi Madubuike is unable to round back into form while dealing with a neck injury, leaving their front seven vulnerable to getting gashed on the ground.
Leg 3: Broncos +8.5 (teased from +2.5)
After Patrick Mahomes opted out of the preseason, question marks have lingered over the Kansas City Chiefs offense heading into their season opener against the Denver Broncos. Even when healthy, the Chiefs lack of talent at the skill positions have affected Mahomes ability to play at a high level, crashing to the bottom half of the board in Bad Throw Percentage and in Air Yards/Reception.
Unfortunately for Mahomes, the Broncos vaunted defense will do him no favors in his efforts of rounding back into form, battling it out against a group who lead the league in Def Success Rate. By consistently holding the Chiefs in front of the sticks early on in their possessions, Mahomes will be forced to air out the ball while trying to pick apart the Broncos suffocating coverage, an unsustainable style of play that will make it difficult for them to move the ball down the field.

Why This Teaser Hits
A twist on the Wong Teaser, our 3-team 6-point teaser helps us steam three teams through the key numbers of three and seven, two of the most common outcomes in the sport. With variance as high as ever early on in the year, locking in our picks at key numbers will help improve our probability of not getting burned by an unfortunate bounce.
Speaking of variance, our Week 1 3-team 6-point teaser directly fades three teams with negative regression looming over them, whether it is stumbling to the other side of the board in Luck Ratings or a defense struggling to hold their ground in the trenches while trying to bottle up one of the most dominant running backs in the league.
Reminder, you need to treat a teaser like a parlay, meaning every leg needs to cash or else your bet as a whole will be graded as a loss.
