No. 1 Overall Pick Odds

We all know it’s happening. Pick: Fernando Mendoza (-20000).

No. 2 Overall Pick Odds

The Jets brought in some defensive pieces this offseason, including rotational pass rushers like Joseph Ossai and Kingsley Enagbare and linebacker Demario Davis. This sets up things nicely for Reese as he won’t be relied upon 100% of the time as a pass rusher, and he’ll have a veteran off-ball linebacker to help him there, too.

Pick: Arvell Reese

No. 3 Overall Pick Odds

As seen in my mock draft above, I believe the Cardinals will trade out of this spot, and it will be with the Cowboys.

For so long, I had thought it would be running back Jeremiyah Love, and while it very well may still be, the Cowboys attempted to acquire pass rusher Maxx Crosby from the Las Vegas Raiders.

Now, instead of Crosby, they get an extremely explosive edge rusher in Bailey for even less than they would’ve had to give up for Crosby and still retain the No. 20 overall pick for more assets later on.

Pick: David Bailey

No. 4 Overall Pick Odds

With Love still on the board after a trade-up from the Cowboys, the Titans sprint the draft card in for Love.

This makes too much sense. Sure, the idea of new head coach Robert Saleh getting his own Fred Warner in Sonny Style is intriguing, but a running back like Love doesn’t come around often.

He’ll help further the development of quarterback Cam Ward and be a face of the franchise as they move into a new stadium next season.

Pick: Jeremiyah Love

No. 5 Overall Pick Odds

In the past, I’ve gone with the Giants taking wide receiver Carnell Tate in this spot, and while I still think that’s completely possible, I just get a feeling that the Giants may look for a player to be the quarterback of the defense and help set the tone for the John Harbaugh era.

When Harbaugh was with the Ravens, he saw the importance of that type of centerpiece on defense when he took over the team with Ray Lewis there, and later, they attempted to replicate it with Patrick Queen in the first round.

Now, they get an uber-athlete in Styles who will set the tone for the Giants’ defense for years to come.

Pick: Sonny Styles

No. 6 Overall Pick Odds

Whether it’s Shedeur Sanders, Deshaun Watson, or Dillon Gabriel under center for the Browns, this team desperately needs more weapons, and like the Titans with Love, the Browns sprint this card in.

Tate is a fantastic route-runner and can track the ball well downfield. While he’d be great in a situation with the Giants where he’s not asked to be the WR1, he can line up opposite Jerry Jeudy and give the Browns signal callers a better chance at production this coming season.

Pick: Carnell Tate

No. 7 Overall Pick Odds

Here at No. 7, the Commanders are also a team I’d consider as a trade-up candidate to No. 3 overall, but instead of Bailey, it would be Love.

Well, that didn’t happen in this scenario, and at No. 7, Downs would be a safe pick, but it would make a lot of sense.

The Commanders could really use a player like Downs; someone who is willing to get up near the line of scrimmage and cause havoc in the pass and run game, but also someone who can play the ball well.

If someone were to say Downs is the best overall prospect in the draft, no accounting for position, I wouldn’t think that’s the most insane take I’ve heard.

He’s a tone-setter and someone the Commanders’ defense could greatly benefit from.

Pick: Caleb Downs

No. 8 Overall Pick Odds

The Saints need to add more weapons to get a larger sample size from quarterback Tyler Shough, and Lemon would be perfect.

Right now, they have Chris Olave, who’s a fantastic outside receiver, and in adding Lemon, they get a guy to run the underneath concepts. He’s been likened to Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown, and he would be a perfect complement to the style Olave plays.

When you have a young quarterback like Shough, getting him more weapons and beefing up the offensive line is the smartest thing to do because you want to give him every possible chance to succeed, and if he doesn’t, well, then you know you need to move on.

With Tate off the board, Lemon is next up.

Pick: Makai Lemon
