Morocco 2026 World Cup Team Preview, Betting Odds, Predictions & Best Bets
Morocco is definitely one of the teams to watch in the 2026 World Cup. They enjoyed a record breaking 2025, beating the record for most consecutive international wins. Morocco also won the African Cup of Nations (albeit in incredibly controversial circumstances) and stormed their way through CAF Qualification.
Morocco have also earned a place in the FIFA ranking’s top ten. There has been a change of manager, with Mohamed Ouahbi taking over from Walid Regragui in March, but Ouahbi also has pedigree with Morocco’s under 20s side. We’re expecting big things from Morocco in this year’s World Cup.

Morocco is considered outsiders to win the 2026 World Cup. Odds of +5000 are available with many sportsbooks. Do I think Morocco will win it? It will be very tough, but they do stand a chance of becoming the first African nation to win soccer’s biggest international prize.
That being said, for me the Final will be a step too far. While Morocco certainly possesses quality, there are other sides in this year’s World Cup who are superior – France and Spain being two examples. Odds on Morocco to reach the Final are set at around +2200. Many sportsbooks have priced Mohamed Ouahbi’s side at +1000 to reach the Semi Final stage, a price that certainly interests me.
Morocco 2026 World Cup Best Bet
Looking at a variety of markets for Morocco’s World Cup campaign, there are a few that have piqued my interest. As you’ve read above, I like the look of +1000 to reach the Semi Final stage. Morocco is also priced at +350 to reach the Quarter Finals, odds that again have captured my interest.
Instead, though, my best bet for Morocco is to top Group C. Brazil is the clear favorite to win the Group, but for me Morocco are a much better side. Controversial perhaps, but Brazil are not the side they once were. The key matchup will be when these two sides meet in Group C’s opening fixture.
Morocco Best Bet: Morocco to win Group C
Morocco 2026 World Cup Players to Watch
Brahim Diaz: We can’t wait to see Real Madrid star Diaz in action in this year’s World Cup. One of the most exciting young talents in world soccer, we’re expecting Diaz to light up the tournament. He scored five goals in seven games during AFCON, despite his Final penalty miss. If Diaz can replicate that form in the World Cup, Morocco will be a force to be reckoned with. Morocco’s danger man is priced at +20000 to be awarded Player of the Tournament – absolutely crazy odds when you consider if Morocco are to do well, it will likely be dictated by their star player.
Achraf Hakimi: Considered by many to be the best right back in world soccer right now, Hakimi will be vital to his country’s chances of reaching the latter stages of World Cup 2026. The Paris Saint Germain player is in a race to be fit for the first game, although it is expected he’ll start against Brazil even with a lack of match fitness.
Ayoub El Kaabi: Up front, El Kaabi will be another Morocco danger man. He’s got a great goalscoring record for club Olympiakos, as well as scoring 20 goals in 55 games for his country.
Morocco World Cup History
This is only the seventh World Cup tournament Morocco have qualified for in their history. Their most successful campaign came in 2022, where Morocco became the first African nation to reach a World Cup Semi Final. Prior to this, Morocco had only reached the Knockout Stage once, reaching the Round of 16 in 1986.
