San Francisco gutted their farm system for a while, and failed to develop for the future. That shows now as they are years removed from their dynasty run of World Series titles. There are still a lot of names from those title winning teams, but the production has fallen off far from those years. Buster Posey, Brandon Crawford, and Brandon Belt are the bigger names still here in San Francisco. Outside of that there are not a lot of young names that are up and coming. The rotation saw one of their bigger pieces leave for Arizona in the offseason, as Madison Bumgarner decided to head down south. This leaves Johnny Cueto and Jeff Samardzija as the main options in the rotation, but both are well past their prime. This Giants team is in bad shape at the moment, but we have seen teams pull off quick turnarounds before.
