The now Las Vegas Raiders had a lot of needs on both sides of the ball heading into the offseason. They made sure to go out and address them as they added names like Cory Littleton and Damarious Randall. They also drafted Damon Arnette to give some depth in the secondary. The Raiders also added Henry Ruggs in the draft and landed Nelson Agholor and Jason Witten. The revamped weapons will be added with Tyrell Williams and Darren Waller. Josh Jacobs had a stellar rookie season and is the lead back on this roster with no competition behind him.

The Raiders will be playing their first season in Las Vegas, the first season an NFL team has played in Sin City. They will be hoping to kick off their time in a new home with their first winning season and playoff appearance since 12-4. In two years under head coach Jon Gruden, the Raiders have an 11-21 combined record. The Raiders were a mediocre team in pretty much all respects last season, ranking 24th in both points for and points against per game and finishing with a 7-9 record, making them the 3rd-best team in their division. The Raiders drafted Henry Ruggs III in the first round of the 2020 draft, ahead of Jerry Jeudy and CeeDee Lamb, who were universally regarded as better prospects. The Raiders didn't make any massive needle-moving acquisitions this offseason and play in one of the most talented divisions in the NFL. It will be tough sledding for them this season and they don't have great odds to make the playoffs.
Heading into the 2020-21 season, the Raiders' starting quarterback Derek Carr carries the team's most significant cap hit at $21.5 million. Derek Carr still has three years under contract with the team. Trent Brown, the team's starting offensive tackle, also bears a $21.5 million cap hit.
The Raiders' current owner, Mark Davis, inherited the team after his father's death in 2011. Mark's father, Al Davis, was previously the Raiders head coach, winning the AFL Coach of the Year award in 1972. Al Davis became the principal owner in 1972 and oversaw 3
Jon Gruden is entering his third season as the Raiders' head coach in this stint, but he was previously the team's head coach from 1998-2001. Gruden's Raiders have yet to see the same success this time as he previously did - he had two playoff appearances in his first Raiders stint.
The Raiders currently have just over $8.2 million in cap space heading into the 2020-21 season, which ranks as only the sixth-least in the NFL. With the level of salary they have tied up heading into this season, the team should be a playoff contender.
Derek Carr has been the Raiders' starting quarterback since 2014. However, Carr has only led the Raiders to one winning season in that span. He's on the hot seat now after Marcus Mariota was signed in free agency to a $7.5 million contract. It's likely both of them see snaps this season.
The Raiders drafted three players in 2020 who are going to be 21 years old when the NFL season starts - Henry Ruggs III, a first-round wide receiver out of Alabama, Bryan Edwards, a third-round wide receiver out of South Carolina, and Amik Robertson, a 4th-round cornerback out of Louisiana Tech.
Jason Witten is set to be the oldest player on the Raiders' roster this season as the longtime Cowboys' tight end will be playing his first season in a different uniform this season. Witten is 38 years old and previously retired for the entirety of the 2018 season.
