The WNBA Playoffs roll on with Game 2 of the Finals on Monday night, as the Valkyries look to extend their series lead to 2-0.

The Dream couldn’t capitalize on a hot start in Game 1 and also let a fourth-quarter lead slip away, but Atlanta should have plenty of confidence it can correct course with a few tweaks in Game 2.

Best WNBA Monday Player Props

  • Allisha Gray Under 20.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists
  • Gabby Williams Over 22.5 Points + Rebounds

Allisha Gray (Dream at Valkyries) Under Points + Rebounds + Assists

Gray opened the series with a stat line that looked good on the surface – 19 points, six rebounds and two assists – but that was partly the byproduct of a busy night at the charity stripe. Gray went just 5-for-19 from the floor, including 1-for-8 from behind the arc, but an 8-for-8 tally from the line helped her to the solid point total.

The struggles with efficiency weren’t surprising considering Golden State’s suffocating defense, which also held Gray to a 32.5% success rate from the floor and an average of 18.7 points + rebounds + assists in three regular-season meetings. The Valkyries also allowed the fewest points per game to guards during the regular season (38.1), as well as the third-fewest rebounds (10.8) and assists (11.8) per contest.

Given the Valkyries’ ability to limit production in all three categories – as well as the fact Golden State tied for the fewest free-throw attempts allowed to guards per game – the Under on Gray is a consideration here if she doesn’t see as many opportunities from the charity stripe.

Gabby Williams (Valkyries vs. Dream) Over Points + Rebounds

Williams was the star of the Valkyries’ Game 1 win, posting a game-high 26 points and adding four rebounds, two assists and one steal. Williams wasn’t at her most efficient – she went just 8-for-22 from the floor – but she shot 51.2% from the floor, including 41.2% from distance, in three games against Atlanta during the regular season while averaging 22.6 points + rebounds per contest in that span.

The star forward also came into Saturday’s victory already riding some serious momentum, averaging 20.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.8 steals per contest over her previous nine games dating back to Aug. 27. Atlanta was about middle of the pack when it came to per-game scoring allowed to forwards during the regular season (26.4 PPG), but the Dream also gave up the fifth-highest shooting percentage (46.4%) and fifth-most free-throw attempts (7.3) per contest to forwards.

Williams put up a combined 30 field-goal and free-throw attempts in Game 1, and even if she doesn’t quite achieve that elevated usage Monday, this number is very much within reach.
