The Pick: Valkyries 78, Dream 74
We’ll side with the Under again, carrying head-to-head data from Game 1 into Game 2 along with Golden State’s stats vs the Eastern Conference.
Game Betting Analysis
We go back to what hit for us in Game 1, the Under. Golden State has seen the Under hit in five straight games against the Eastern Conference following the 68-64 defeat of Atlanta in Game 1. The Under has now also hit in five of six meetings between Golden State and Atlanta, with neither team touching 80 points in those five meetings along with the losing team seeing 75 points or less. Atlanta entered Game 1 on a 10-0 ATS and outright run, but Golden State ended both as the Valkyries are now 4-0 ATS and SU against the Dream over their last four meetings, while Golden State has now won 11 straight home games as a favorite. We still have more conviction in the total but Golden State seems like the lean in the ATS or outright markets.

Deciding Factor: Gabby Williams’ All-Star Takeover vs. Atlanta’s Vanishing Half-Court Offense
In her debut season with Golden State, Gabby Williams made her first All-Star team as a starter, and she’s been the best player on the floor in both of the Valkyries’ playoff series this October — first powering the sweep of defending champion Las Vegas, then delivering a signature 26-point performance (8 made field goals, 7-of-8 at the line, a team-best plus-16) in a tight 68-64 Game 1 win over Atlanta that put Golden State one win from a 2-0 lead in the first Finals appearance in franchise history. This isn’t a one-off matchup for her, either: in a regular-season meeting with the Dream, she scored 13 of her 16 points in a perfect fourth quarter. With Kiah Stokes (9 points, 7 rebounds, 4 blocks) and Cecilia Zandalasini chipping in secondary scoring, Williams is carrying the offensive engine role for a Golden State team that looked the clearly better unit when the series mattered most.
Atlanta, meanwhile, has a different problem entirely: generating a good shot in the first place. In Game 1 the Dream posted just a 35.9% effective field goal percentage and scored only 0.73 points per half-court possession — their fifth-worst offensive output of the season — while 94% of their shot attempts were contested, as Golden State’s defense dialed back its ball pressure in pick-and-roll and stopped sending extra defenders at Rhyne Howard, daring Atlanta’s stars to beat them one-on-one. Howard (12 points) and Jordin Canada (8 points, 7 assists) combined for just 20 points on 6-of-23 shooting, and Allisha Gray’s 19-point, 8-for-8-from-the-line outing — delivered less than a week removed from minor surgery that had her officially day-to-day entering Game 1 — looks more like an outlier Atlanta can’t count on repeating than a sustainable floor. If Karl Smesko can get Gray better touches working left to right and free up Howard with cleaner ball-screen actions, the Dream have a path to stealing one back at Chase Center; if the half-court offense doesn’t fix itself fast, Williams and the Valkyries look set to take a commanding 2-0 series lead.
