The Pick: 49ers 30, Commanders 22
We’ll take the 49ers’ spread based on multiple data points, while the Over is also on the table based on a handful of Commanders’ trends.
Game Betting Analysis
Both the Niners to cover and the Over seem fine to test in this one, let’s start with the more confident pick – the spread. The 49ers are a solid 4-1 on the ATS this season, while also covering the spread in nine straight games when facing the NFC East as a favorite. Also, Washington has dropped the spread in its last six road games when coming off overtime, and traveling across the country is the furthest road game inside the States. For total bettors, the Over has hit in four of five games for Washington this season while also seeing the Over hit in right straight games vs the NFC. However, the Under has hit in six of eight meetings with the 49ers – our only setback here.

Deciding Factor: 49ers’ Unbeaten Pass Rush vs. Jayden Daniels’ Twice-Dislocated Elbow
San Francisco’s pass rush is the swing piece in this one. The 49ers have racked up 11 total sacks through five games, a 2.2-per-game clip, but that production has had to come from committee rather than one dominant presence — Keion White leads the group with just 3.0 sacks — because Nick Bosa has missed the last three games (all wins) with a calf strain. Kyle Shanahan said Oct. 13 that Bosa “has a chance” to play Monday night even though he still wasn’t fully cleared as of that update, and simply working Bosa back into the rotation, even on a snap count, raises San Francisco’s ceiling against a Washington offense that has already allowed 10 sacks of its own quarterback this season, tied for the 19th-most in the league through five weeks.
Jayden Daniels, meanwhile, is the one absorbing those hits, and that’s what makes this matchup dangerous for Washington specifically. Daniels dislocated his left elbow against Dallas on Sept. 20, missed Washington’s Week 4 game against the Colts, then returned in Week 5 against the Giants wearing a brace and was sacked five times in that game alone — half of the Commanders’ season total — while still managing to go 17-of-25 for 199 yards and a 91.9 passer rating in the 27-27 overtime tie. He’s a full practice participant this week and isn’t on the injury report, but ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Oct. 11 that doctors around the league view a second dislocation of the same elbow within roughly 11 months as “a matter of when, not if,” even though the specialists Daniels personally consulted considered playing through it in a brace to be viable. If San Francisco’s pass rush gets home even a handful of times Monday night, every hit Daniels takes on that braced left arm carries risk well beyond the scoreboard; but if he can operate largely clean and replicate his Week 5 efficiency without another five-sack beating, Washington has already shown it can still move the ball with him under center.
