Top TD Picks: Austin Ekeler & George Kittle
We’ve got a potential blowout on tap for Week 6 Monday Night Football between the Washington Commanders and San Francisco 49ers. The Commanders are coming off an inexplicable debacle in overtime, when they let time expire despite being in field goal range, resulting in a tie. The Niners just took care of business on the road against the division rival Seahawks.

While Jayden Daniels has been able to make big plays with his legs, I’m not sure it will be enough to hang with the 49ers, even though they’re dealing with a myriad of injuries. With that said, it’s a projected high-scoring game with a 52.5-point total, making it the ideal game environment for touchdown props. Austin Ekeler Touchdown Odds
I like targeting a longshot like Austin Ekeler. You can get him to score a touchdown at around +300 odds at the time of this article. With Jacory Croskey-Merritt ruled out for this game, that puts Ekeler as the RB2 behind Rachaad White. Even though I expect White to get around 15-17 touches, that doesn’t mean that we won’t see Ekeler in an elevated role. The veteran running back has made an impact in the red zone throughout his career, so there’s a chance that the Commanders will give it to him inside the 20-yard-line.
Since I like the Niners to win this game by 10+ points, I’d rather target a Commanders player with a higher return on investment. Ekeler fits the bill, with added appeal due to an uptick in touches due to Croskey-Merritt’s injury.
George Kittle Touchdown Odds
I came into the season expecting that George Kittle would get off to a slow start. After all, he’s a veteran player coming off a torn Achilles. But I couldn’t have been more wrong, as Kittle has shown no ill effects, catching 21-of-28 targets for 268 yards and four touchdowns so far.
Mike Evans is a game-time decision for this game. If he’s out, that could lead to more targets for Kittle. But even if Evans plays, there’s a chance that he’ll be a bit more limited than usual. On top of that, it’s a fantastic matchup against a Commanders defense that runs two-high coverage at the second-highest rate in the league. That means their safeties play deeper, leaving them a bit more vulnerable across the middle of the field.
We saw the Giants exploit that with Isaiah Likely last week, where he put up 11 catches for 94 yards and two touchdowns. To that end, we could see a massive game from Kittle here, making him worth a look at around -105 odds to find the end zone.
