Week 6’s Sunday slate closes with a classic NFC showdown between two historic franchises. The Cowboys head to Lambeau Field for their second straight primetime appearance after falling short on Thursday night last week. 👑 Javonte Williams, DAL/RB/MVP ($14,400)
Javonte Williams has been one of the few constants in a volatile Dallas offense through a rough start to the season. His 7 TDs rank third in the league, and the 26-year-old has firmly established himself as the team’s primary goal-line option. Williams leads the league with 11 carries inside the 5-yard line and has made the most of his opportunities throughout the young season. He slots into our captain spot based on his overall volume and a favorable matchup against a struggling run defense.
Williams logged a career-high 92.3% carry share in last week’s loss to the Buccaneers and will have little competition for touches barring injury. He now has 74 carries to backup Tyler Goodson’s nine and has played 85% of Dallas’ snaps through five weeks. That workload sets up nicely against a Packers side allowing the third-most fantasy points to opposing RBs this season. Green Bay is giving up 127.6 rushing yards per game and has conceded 8 rushing TDs — second most in the league. Look for Williams to extend his three-game TD streak against this vulnerable Green Bay run defense.
Matthew Golden, GB/WR ($8,000)
Green Bay’s first-round pick from a year ago, Matthew Golden, appears to have found his footing in his sophomore season. The young wideout has taken on an expanded role following offseason departures at the position and the early-season injury to fellow WR Jayden Reed. Golden now leads the team with a 24.3% target share since Reed went down and has seen 26 total targets over the three games he has been out. He has seen 7 or more targets in each of those weeks, posting 100-plus yards and a TD in two of the three contests.
His 16.5 yards per reception bodes well against a Dallas secondary susceptible to chunk plays, ranking 21st against the pass at 227.0 yards allowed per game. The Cowboys attempted to address the secondary by acquiring CB Joey Porter Jr. via trade in Week 3, though the former Steeler has played just 25 snaps and is questionable for Sunday. Golden’s team-high eight red-zone targets make him a legitimate scoring threat, but his overall volume alone justifies a spot in any lineup.
George Pickens, DAL/WR ($8.800)
We got a glimpse of the Pickens-Prescott connection in Thursday’s loss to the Buccaneers. The former Steeler had his best game of the season — 9 receptions for 130 yards and a TD — benefiting from WR1 CeeDee Lamb being limited throughout with a quad injury. Lamb has been cleared for Sunday night, though another high-volume performance from Pickens is possible if his teammate reaggravates the injury. Pickens saw a season-high 13 targets on Thursday and should remain busy, with a shootout likely given the 53-point implied total.
Sunday night’s matchup pits the fifth-ranked passing offense against the fifth-best passing defense. The 25-year-old faces a secondary allowing just 181.0 passing yards per game, but that will not deter Prescott and the Dallas offense. With Pickens’ target share trending up and Lamb entering the game at less than 100%, we are backing the former Bulldog to build on last week’s strong performance.
Brandon Aubrey, DAL/K ($5,200)
Aubrey continues to justify the Cowboys making him the league’s highest-paid kicker this offseason. The former USFL product now holds an 87.1% FG accuracy rate with Dallas and has been nearly automatic at close range throughout his career. His three misses this season came from 59, 62, and 65 yards, with the former soccer player converting his other nine attempts. His 60-yard make in Week 2 ranks as the second-longest made FG of the season, and the Cowboys will keep giving him the green light from long range.
Sunday night’s 53-point implied total suggests Aubrey could be called upon several times. While the Packers’ red-zone defense has limited opposing kickers’ fantasy production this season, Aubrey’s long-range ability gives him a path to points even when the offense stalls.
Christian Watson, GB/WR ($9,000)
The Packers took a chance on their young WR by signing him to a lucrative extension this offseason despite his lengthy injury history. So far, Watson has rewarded that faith with a scorching start to the season. The fifth-year receiver leads the team in yards (474), receptions (26), receiving TDs (6), and targets (40) through five weeks, cementing himself as the team’s true WR1. He should have no problem keeping pace against the Dallas secondary we already highlighted as a liability.
The 27-year-old enters Week 6 as the fantasy WR2. Last week against the Bears, he had his second game of the season with 6-plus receptions, 140-plus yards, and 2 TDs — nearly matching his Week 1 showing against the Vikings. The 6’4″ physical wideout continues to give opposing DBs fits, and his chemistry with Jordan Love has grown steadily, with the young QB consistently trusting him in outside matchups.
Ryan Flournoy, DAL/WR ($4,400)
We close out our Sunday night lineup with one of the league’s more reliable WR3s in Ryan Flournoy. The veteran wideout will always operate behind Lamb and Pickens in the target hierarchy, but Prescott looks his way consistently within that role. The 26-year-old enters Week 6 ranked fourth on the team with 27 targets and 16 catches, with his 194 receiving yards trailing only Pickens and Lamb. His 90-yard outing last week was a season high.
Flournoy saw a statistical uptick when Lamb was in and out of the lineup in the second half against the Buccaneers, though he has maintained steady volume even with Lamb healthy — 17 targets over his last three games. He and Prescott have developed a reliable connection, particularly downfield, with his 12.13 yards per catch ranking third on the team. Flournoy will continue to see his share of targets against the Packers, and the attention his superstar teammates command should keep his matchups favorable.
