Week 6 is here, and the player pool keeps shrinking with four teams on bye this weekend. The Bengals, Lions, Dolphins, and Vikings are all sitting out, making lineup construction a trickier task than usual. Let’s look at which players have favorable matchups this weekend and build the best lineup for Sunday afternoon’s games.

Bryce Young, CAR/QB ($5,700)
Bryce Young and the high-powered Carolina offense return from their bye week and headline our Sunday lineup. The former Alabama standout is in the midst of a breakout fourth season and will look to keep rolling against a shorthanded Eagles squad on Sunday afternoon. Young enters Week 6 still ranking first among all QBs in passing yards per game at 317.0 and has been highly efficient, posting a 9:2 TD-to-INT ratio through five games.
He now faces a Philadelphia squad in freefall — three straight losses and now without former Super Bowl MVP Jalen Hurts, who is out indefinitely with blood clots. The Eagles return home from London to face a well-rested Panthers offense that was firing on all cylinders before the bye. Philadelphia’s secondary ranks 26th in the league, allowing 238.8 passing yards per game. Carolina enters averaging the fourth-most PPG at 30.3, and another big offensive day under Dave Canales looks well within reach.
Chuba Hubbard, CAR/RB ($6,300)
Following the Carolina theme, Hubbard had one of the best games of his career in Week 4 and enters Sunday at a reasonable price relative to his production this season. Heading into the bye, he ranked top 10 in rushing yards (306), yards per carry (5.02), rushing TDs (3), and explosive run rate (16.1%). Despite early concerns about a shared backfield, Hubbard has forced his coaching staff’s hand with his effectiveness.
The 27-year-old has scored 14 or more fantasy points in every game this season, and his volume makes him a safe floor play even if he does not find the end zone. With backup RB Jonathan Brooks landing on IR after Week 2, Hubbard immediately took on 84% of the team’s offensive snaps and saw 44 touches across the next two games. He now faces a Philadelphia run defense ranked 19th in the league, allowing 118.0 rushing yards per game. Hubbard’s hard-nosed running style has produced 3.4 yards after contact this season, and a strong follow-up to his 2-TD performance against the Eagles is expected.
Bucky Irving, TMB/RB ($6,200)
Bucky Irving stole the show when he helped lead his shorthanded Buccaneers to a Thursday Night Football victory over the Cowboys in Week 5. The third-year back finished the primetime matchup with 21 carries for 165 yards and 2 TDs, pushing him into the top 15 in scrimmage yards this season at 477. With QB Baker Mayfield still expected to miss time, Tampa Bay will keep riding Irving as long as he keeps producing, while undrafted rookie QB Jalon Daniels continues to find his footing in the league.
Irving will look to follow up his monster performance with another strong outing against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The normally defensive-minded side has been solid against the run this season, ranking 13th and allowing 103.4 rushing yards per game. The Steelers have yet to allow a 100-yard rusher this year, though Irving could be the first if he sees a similar workload. Pittsburgh has also been vulnerable in the passing game for RBs — Irving logged just two receptions in Thursday’s win but is averaging nearly four targets per game this season and could be heavily involved through the air against a defense allowing the fifth-most receiving yards to RBs.
Mailk Nabers, NYG/WR ($6,500)
Giants superstar WR Malik Nabers continues to trend upward, though his oddly low $6,500 salary might not reflect it. The sophomore receiver now has back-to-back 100-plus-yard games after speaking out about his role in the offense, and no secondary appears capable of slowing him down right now. Nabers has racked up 17 receptions for 233 yards and 2 TDs over his last two games and enters a matchup with the second-highest implied total in the 1 p.m. ET slate at 46 points.
His price may be suppressed because New Orleans has been solid in pass coverage this season, ranking just outside the top 10 in passing yards allowed per game at 212.5. Even so, WR1s have found success against Brandon Staley’s defense recently, with Justin Jefferson and Drake London both putting up big numbers in back-to-back weeks heading into this contest. Nabers saw a career-high 20 targets last week and has posted a 35.05% target share over the last two games, making him one of the top WR options on the slate.
Tetairoa McMillan, CAR/WR ($7,300)
We already highlighted 2/3 of the Panthers’ big three, and we’ll be stacking the young star WR with his QB this Sunday. Tetairoa McMillan went into the Week 5 bye fresh off a career night vs. the Lions on Sunday Night Football. The sophomore wideout took advantage of fellow WR Jalen Coker’s ankle injury and finished with a whopping 14 receptions for 192 yards and 2 TDs. He will now look to follow up the career night after a week of resting and against a vulnerable team like the Eagles.
The 23-year-old will almost certainly see a dropoff in targets with Coker back in the lineup, though he still leads the team by a comfortable margin with a 22.7% target share and 31.6% first-read share for the season. McMillan should have plenty of time to get downfield based on the Eagles’ bottom-10 pressure rank this season, and McMillan’s 11.9-yard average target depth should lead to several big plays throughout the game.
Xavier Worthy, KNC/WR ($4,600)
Former first-round pick Xavier Worthy could be QB Patrick Mahomes’ #1 target in Sunday’s AFC West matchup vs. the Chargers. WR1 Rashee Rice is officially ruled out coming out of the bye week with a hamstring injury, and Worthy and TE Travis Kelce will likely attract the most targets as a result. Fellow wideout Tyquan Thornton was also placed on IR, leaving even more opportunities to Worthy, who had his best showing of the season in Week 4. He got 4 of his 7 targets for 70 yards, and played 75% of the Chiefs’ offensive snaps.
The speedy WR takes on a difficult Los Angeles secondary that ranks sixth in the league, allowing just 193.0 passing yards per game. Even so, the Chargers are giving up the fourth-most fantasy points per opportunity to outside receivers, and Worthy will certainly have a chance to show off the breakneck speed that made him such a highly touted prospect. Sunday’s game will be the young wideout’s first real opportunity to lead the team as its top WR, and we’re backing him to come up big in the moment.
Dalton Kincaid, BUF/TE ($5,100)
Bills TE Dalton Kincaid is well-positioned to bounce back from back-to-back quiet outings when he faces the Raiders in the late afternoon window. The 26-year-old has established himself as one of Josh Allen’s go-to targets early this season but has managed just one reception in each of his last two games. Buffalo’s passing game was tested by two tough defenses in those contests and should find much more room against a Raiders secondary that has been vulnerable all year.
Las Vegas ranks 27th in total yards allowed at 377.0 per game, with 236.4 coming through the air. Kincaid, who works primarily out of the slot, now faces a defense that gives up the third-most yards per route run (1.93) to slot receivers because of its zone-heavy scheme. Despite seeing just four targets over the last two games, he remains a primary threat in this offense with WR D.J. Moore still dealing with a shoulder injury. Expect Kincaid to bounce back and return to the form we saw early in the season.
Cam Skattebo, NYG/RB ($6,300)
Skattebo and the Giants keep moving forward despite losing starting QB Jaxson Dart for the season. New York is now 3-1-1, and the sophomore RB continues to produce despite sharing some carries. He has handled 66.2% of the Giants’ carries this season and should thrive with that workload against one of the league’s worst run defenses.
RBs facing New Orleans are averaging a league-high 31.9 fantasy points per game this season, and Staley’s defense has surrendered the most rushing TDs (10) through five weeks. Some had concerns that Skattebo’s crucial fumble in last week’s tie might affect his role, but coach John Harbaugh publicly put that to rest by backing his star back heading into this week. Look for Skattebo to bounce back in a big way against the Saints on Sunday.
Panthers D/ST ($2,500)
We round out our Week 6 lineup with the Panthers defense, which has improved significantly over the past few weeks after a rough start to the season. We already touched on Philadelphia’s significant injury issues, and Hurts may not be the only key player missing. Third-string QB Tanner McKee is set to make his first NFL start on Sunday with backup Andy Dalton also out with a concussion.
The QB position is not the only concern for the Eagles, with RB Saquon Barkley questionable again after missing last week with a hamstring injury and backup Will Shipley also confirmed out. Dameon Pierce is expected to serve as the lead back, and Carolina will relish the opportunity to face an extremely depleted offense. The Panthers neutralized an explosive Lions offense before their bye week and should have an even easier time against a Philadelphia squad missing most of their key playmakers.
