It was an interesting Monday in the MLB Playoffs, one that included the Rays getting upset at home by a now red-hot Guardians team in Game 1 of the ALCS.
Cleveland and Tampa Bay have the spotlight all to themselves Tuesday for Game 2 with the NLCS on a travel day, and all eyes will be on the hosts to see if they can salvage a split before the series heads to the Progressive Field.

Best MLB Championship Series Player Props
- Chase DeLauter Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBI
- Yandy Diaz Over 0.5 Singles
Chase DeLauter (Guardians at Rays) Over Hits + Runs + RBI
DeLauter got his ALCS off to a strong start in Monday’s 7-3 win, posting his second multi-hit effort of the postseason in the form of a 3-for-4 night that consisted of a double, a solo home run, a walk and three runs. DeLauter’s first postseason has gone well overall, as he’s yet to strike out in 27 plate appearances and has hit safely in all but one game.
Consequently, the star rookie is a good player to target with the Over on a hits + runs + RBI prop. DeLauter already proved to be a precocious hitter in his first taste of the big leagues this past regular season, racking up 49 extra-base hits and posting an impressively modest 14.7% strikeout rate while averaging 2.0 hits + runs + RBI per game.
DeLauter also recorded a .368 wOBA and .847 OPS against right-handed pitching on the road during the campaign, while Rays starter Freddy Peralta allowed a .330 wOBA to left-handed hitters overall. Given DeLauter’s propensity for consistent contact and the above-average pop he has in his bat, this is a prop worth contemplating.

Yandy Diaz (Rays vs. Guardians) Over Singles
Speaking of above-average contact hitters, Diaz certainly qualifies and is coming off an excellent regular season in his own right. The veteran flashed cleared the 20-homer mark for the second straight year and third in the last four overall, but Diaz also still churned out plenty of singles (131) while striking out at just a 14.3% clip.
Diaz was particularly effective against left-handed pitching at home, so his matchup against southpaw Parker Messick particularly stands out. Diaz posted a .306 average .916 OPS and .390 wOBA versus southpaws at Tropicana Field, and he’s reached safely five times in 13 career plate appearances against Messick while striking out just twice in that sample.
Four of the five hits Diaz has so far this postseason have been singles, and it’s a prudent bet to back at least one more knock in Tuesday’s critical Game 2.
