No one suffered more in Week 6 of the NFL season than veteran receivers and the Los Angeles Rams. The Rams were forced to place three key players: Davante Adams, Poona Ford, and Kobie Turner on IR, and also lost their replacement kicker, Blake Grupke, to a torn ACL.

All that while losing to the Cardinals. Now, they’re 2-4 and heading in the wrong direction. Aside from the Rams, who else is dealing with injuries as we move close to the halfway point of the NFL season?

WR Mike Evans (49ers vs Falcons): Probable
The San Francisco 49ers are deep in the trenches of war. At 6-0, the 49ers have the best record in the NFL and are top-10 in expected points added on offense and defense, per Sümer Sports. They’re a war machine. However, they’re also one of the most injured teams in the NFL this season. One of their top free agent signings, Mike Evans, epitomizes that battle. The veteran receiver has been playing through multiple injuries in 2026, but has caught 27 passes for 420 yards and three touchdowns in his first six games with the 49ers. Evans has been dealing with rib and Achilles injuries over the last few weeks, but continues to gut out big performances for the offense. That looks to be the status quo as the 49ers head into a tough Week 7 matchup against the Falcons. After the Week 6 win over the Commanders, 49ers’ head coach Kyle Shanahan said that Evans left the game early due to the Achilles injury, but hoped that he would recover throughout the week and be ready to go against Atlanta. He’s become a major part of an elite offense, reminding everyone he’s still one of the top receivers in the game.
T Christian Darrisaw (Vikings vs. Colts): Probable
The Vikings’ offense has been a scrutinized unit in the first six weeks of the season, despite the team being 5-0 for the second time in three seasons. The offense, in fairness, has struggled. It ranks 27th in expected points added and in success rate so far, and Kevin O’Connell has struggled to truly embed Kyler Murray into the offense. Murray missed a short spell with a concussion, but the results have still shown that there’s work to be done. Having the offensive line fully healthy and raring to go will be a big step in the right direction in Minnesota. Left tackle Christian Darrisaw missed the Week 5 win against the New Orleans Saints after suffering a concussion in the win against the Dolphins, but has logged full practices this week, pointing towards a return against the Colts. The offensive line, and offense as a whole, is better when Darrisaw—a top tackle—is on the field. His 2.8% pressure rate allowed is the 22nd-lowest among all offensive linemen with at least 100 snaps in 2026.
WR Matthew Golden (Packers vs. Lions): Probable
As a first-round rookie, Packers wide receiver Matthew Golden flattered to deceive, catching 29 passes for 361 yards in the regular season. Six games into the 2026 season, Golden has already usurped that production from a year ago, becoming an integral part of a Packers offense that sits among the middle of the league in expected points added. His connection with Jordan Love and chemistry with fellow receiver Christian Watson have been one of the stories of the early season. Golden showed up on the Packers’ injury report this week with a shoulder injury, but has been limited in practice on Wednesday through the end of the week. It shouldn’t reveal itself as an issue that will keep Golden out of Sunday’s game against the Lions, but it could be one to keep an eye on. His importance to the Packers’ offense cannot be understated.

S Brian Branch (Lions vs. Packers): Questionable
The Lions’ defense is on the struggle bus. Despite the offense ranking second in expected points added per play, remaining a top unit, as it often has under Dan Campbell, the defense is rock-bottom in expected points added per play. For the sake of sustainability and the ability to win games, that’s not good. The Lions don’t have a lack of talent on the defensive side of the ball, but they have been missing one of their best defensive players for a while now: safety Brian Branch. The former second-round pick has been recovering from a torn Achilles suffered back in December but is expected to be activated from the physically unable to perform list this week, and Campbell believes that he and Mays could be back in the fold to face the Packers in a major matchup on Sunday afternoon. The Lions’ secondary has suffered without the hard-hitting, do-it-all safety since he went down, and his inclusion in the lineup could help this unit not be the worst in the league.
CB Trent McDuffie (Rams vs. Raiders): Questionable
The status of Trent McDuffie ahead of Week 6 changed dramatically, almost allegorical to the Rams’ season. McDuffie felt something in his groin late in the week, was listed as questionable, and then ruled out for the Rams’ Week 6 loss to the Cardinals. Just like that. His absence wasn’t the reason the Rams lost, but McDuffie is just far too talented to be on the sidelines. His current status heading into Week 7 remains questionable. The suddenness of the injury makes it hard to really grasp where McDuffie is. He’ll need to ramp up with some limited participation in practice if he’s going to be ready to go for a tough clash with the Raiders. In an ideal world, the Rams have plenty of time to turn their early season woes around, but they’re 2-4 and in danger of falling by the wayside. As the injuries continue to stack up, the Rams need to make sure they can get their best players on the field.
QB Lamar Jackson (Ravens vs. Bengals): Questionable
The certainty for every backup quarterback in the NFL is that, eventually, they’ll run out of road. Guys across the league can step in, in a pinch, and deliver competent performances and maybe even a win or two, but eventually, teams are left pining for their starting quarterback. That process only takes a few games to materialise, and for the Ravens, who are currently without their franchise quarterback, Lamar Jackson, it hasn’t taken much longer at all. The Ravens are 1-1 without Jackson after losing 13-10 to the Cleveland Browns in Week 6—a result and offensive performance that highlighted just how desperately the Ravens need Jackson in the lineup—and will duel with the Bengals in another AFC North showdown this week. Jackson was absent from practice on Wednesday, and if he isn’t able to log at least one practice, the Ravens could have to turn to Tyler Huntley for a third successive week. They’re 17th in expected points added per play in the last two weeks.
🏥 Doubtful, Out
WR Terry McLaurin (BYE): Out
Though the Washington Commanders are on a bye week in Week 7, there’s still some vital news regarding one of their top players. Veteran wide receiver Terry McLaurin suffered a significant knee injury early in the Week 6 loss to the 49ers and was carted off in an air cast. Whatever the news would be, it wasn’t going to be good. It was announced on Tuesday morning that McLaurin had suffered a torn patellar tendon and that he would be out for the season. The Commanders’ offense was already light on receivers before the McLaurin injury, so losing their top guy is a catastrophic development, even if McLaurin had a quiet start to the season. The goal now is finding ways to replace McLaurin. Stefon Diggs will continue to demand the lion’s share of the targets, but can rookie Antonio Williams or former first-round pick Treylon Burks step up? The Commanders return to action in Week 8 against the Philadelphia Eagles.
WR Davante Adams (Rams vs. Raiders): Out
The Rams’ hype train has petered out. The preseason Super Bowl favorites were bordering upon superteam status with the additions of Trent McDuffie, Myles Garrett, and Aaron Donald to the defense, while the offense looked to stay on top of the world. At 2-4, all isn’t well in Rams Land, and it’s getting worse. Davante Adams hobbled off late in the Week 6 loss to the Arizona Cardinals, and the expectation was that, because it was a non-contact injury, the Rams should expect the worst. The reality, thankfully, wasn’t as bad as a torn ACL, but Adams did suffer a ruptured hamstring that’s landed him on IR. The feeling now is that he’s expected to miss between 6 and 10 weeks, and a late-season return—or if the Rams make it to the postseason, a playoff return—seems the most likely. All-Pro receiver Puka Nacua will still be the fulcrum of the Rams’ offense, but as Matthew Stafford continues to struggle, it becomes clear that the Rams need more help at receiver.
CB Sauce Gardner (Colts vs. Vikings): Doubtful
The firing of long-time Colts’ general manager Chris Ballard might not come as a shock. Ballard had delivered a spree of consistent, but unspectacular, rosters across his nine full seasons at the helm while only tasting the playoffs twice. That lack of development set the table for his dismissal, but it was the trade for Sauce Gardner that really pulled the rug out from under him. Gardner is still an excellent cornerback, but injuries have really held him back so far in Indianapolis, and the former first-round pick is once again dealing with a calf issue—to the same calf that cost him a large chunk of last season. Gardner has played in all six games for the Colts this season, but exited late in the loss against the Titans. From there, it’s not been encouraging news. Gardner hasn’t been officially ruled out yet, but is viewed as week-to-week by the Colts. The chances are he’s not playing this week and could miss some time.
