Best Bet: YRFI (+140) at DraftKings
Best Bet: MIL -1.5 (+126)
Score Prediction: Brewers 4, Rays 2
The Pick: Brewers 4, Rays 2
We’ll take a chance on the YRFI, although the Brewers run line provides the best value based on head-to-head trends and recent Brew Crew data.
Game Betting Analysis
There’s a lot saying Milwaukee in the data, winning three of four meetings against Tampa Bay while the home team has also won six of eight outright. Milwaukee has covered the run line in four of five meetings, along with six of eight head-to-heads, and six straight games overall. The Brew Crew have won nine straight games as favorites and 22 of 26 games overall – that’s crazy. The total is murky, the Over hitting in two straight meetings along with seven of eight Game 1s in the World Series – however, the Under has hit in five of seven meetings (five straight prior to the last two meetings). There isn’t conviction in the Over, while the only real value based on the data is Milwaukee’s run line at +126. However, the YRFI has hit in nine straight home games for Milwaukee when facing the AL – so we do like that risk also if searching for value in an otherwise difficult game to decipher.

Deciding Factor: Jacob Misiorowski’s Home-Field Dominance vs. Tampa Bay’s Hot Right-Handed Hitters
Milwaukee hands the ball to Jacob Misiorowski to open the World Series, and the rookie has been nothing short of overwhelming all year, leading all of baseball with a 1.80 ERA, 0.80 WHIP and 252 strikeouts while going 16-5, with the Brewers a stunning 24-8 in his starts this season. He’s been even better at home, allowing two runs or fewer in 16 of his 18 starts at American Family Field, and his Statcast profile backs it up with 99th-percentile marks in both xBA and xERA allowed. Milwaukee as a whole was the majors’ best team against .500-or-better opponents (45-30) and led the league in scoring at home, giving Misiorowski an offense capable of backing him up in the building where he’s been at his most dominant, a venue that now hosts the first two games of the series.
Tampa Bay, meanwhile, was a measurably different club away from Tropicana Field all season, going 43-38 on the road compared to 55-26 at home, and now opens the Fall Classic in Milwaukee, a park that carries a 105 home run factor and ranks 11th-most homer-friendly in baseball, against the toughest home starter in the sport. The counterweight is that Misiorowski’s one real soft spot has been right-handed hitting, allowing a .582 OPS and 8 home runs to righties compared to a .378 OPS and just 6 homers to lefties, and the Rays happen to be fronting their lineup with two of the game’s hottest right-handed bats in Junior Caminero (42 home runs, .884 OPS) and Yandy Diaz, who’s gone deep four times this postseason alone, including the home run that clinched the ALCS. If that righty-heavy top of the order can find the one platoon crack in Misiorowski’s otherwise historic season, Tampa Bay has a real path to stealing Game 1 on the road.
