Two NFC contenders coming off Week 7 losses face off at historic Lambeau Field on  Thursday Night Football. Carolina sits atop the NFC South by a half-game despite its 3-3-1 record, while Green Bay is actually in the cellar of the NFC North despite its 4-3 mark.

With the stage set, let’s dive into three player props to consider for Thursday’s action. Be sure to check out our NFL betting trends page for data and odds on every game.

Panthers-Packers Best NFL Week 8 Player Props

  • Josh Jacobs Over 77.5 Rushing + Receiving Yards
  • Chuba Hubbard Over 67.5 Rushing Yards
  • Jordan Love Under 260.5 Passing Yards

Josh Jacobs Over Rushing + Receiving Yards

Jacobs made his season debut in Week 7 against the Lions and looked to be in midseason form, not completely surprising considering he’d been allowed to continue doing conditioning work at the team facility while on the Commissioner’s Exempt List since the start of the season. The veteran back scuffled some for running room against a tough Detroit front, gaining 36 yards on 11 carries. However, Jacobs was a hit as a receiver, posting a 5-55-1 line on seven targets while immediately rekindling his chemistry with Jordan Love.

With a 35 scrimmage snaps and another full week of practice under his belt, Jacobs could be ready to handle something akin to the workhorse role he’s been accustomed to throughout his career. What’s more, with his body having been spared from wear and tear over the first six weeks, he has much more spring in his step than the defenders he’ll be butting heads with Thursday night.

The matchup against the Panthers works very much in his favor as well, as Carolina has allowed the fourth-most rushing yards to running backs (761) and has done so at 5.2 yards per carry. Additionally, the Panthers have conceded 6.9 yards per reception to running backs as well, teeing Jacobs up to likely eclipse this prop with ease if he sees even a 25-30% increase in his touches.

Original Line Publish: 77.5

Chuba Hubbard Over Rushing Yards

Hubbard is somethat of a Jacobs clone on the other side of this matchup, and like his counterpart, he’s also in a good spot to cash the Over on Thursday. The fifth-year vet is averaging a crisp 4.8 yards per carry on the season despite his lowest-volume game of the season in Week 7, when he garnered just seven carries in a blowout loss to the Buccaneers. However, despite the stiff challenge always posed by the Bucs’ front, Hubbard grinded his way to 33 yards on those seven totes, and he came into the game with back-to-back 120-plus-yard efforts.

Hubbard is averaging 76.5 rushing yards per game overall this season despite a couple of outlier scenarios, and he’s now up against a Packers defense that’s allowed 4.0 yards per carry to running backs, and 4.6 yards per rush attempt at home overall (to all positions). Chances are the Panthers aren’t mired in another lopsided scenario this week against a Packers offense that often prefers to chew up clock in situation-neutral scenarios, so the rushing workload shouln’t be an issue for Hubbard.

Hubbard has double-digit carries in all but his Week 7 game this season, so the 67.5 could very well be in his wheelhouse as the Panthers look to get back to a balanced offense.

Original Line: 67.5

Jordan Love Under Passing Yards

Love is having a fine first half of the season overall, having already thrown for 1,958 yards with 13:5 TD:INT. However, the veteran signal-caller is completing just 59.8% of his passes, so a lot of his success has come from being able to hit on an inordinate amount of big plays through the air. Love already has 30 completions of 20+ yards, including eight of 40+, the latter matching his total from 2025 across 15 games.

Yet, on paper, Thursday’s matchup doesn’t line up well for his chances of a similarly productive night. The Panthers have allowed a very stingy 60.5% completion rate to quarterbacks – nearly matching Love’s own middling number – and a modest 208.2 passing yards per game to the position as well. Carolina is particularly clamping down on wide receivers – the source of Love’s big yardage for the most part – limiting the position to a 61.3% catch rate and 133 yards per contest.

The Panthers have allowed 19.3 completions per road game at the league’s second-lowest yards per completion (7.3), leaving Love well short of 261 passing yards if they were even in the neighborhood of those season-long figures on Thursday night. As such, despite the fact he’s 5-2 to the Over on this figure, I like Love falling under in this particular scenario.
