The Patriots (14-3) were one of the biggest surprises this season, rebounding from a 4-13 campaign in QB Drake Maye’s rookie campaign. Maye is in the running for league MVP after throwing for 4,394 yards and 31 TDs, while leading New England to a 10-game winning streak during the season.
The Chargers (11-6) seek their first playoff win with QB Justin Herbert, who is 0-2 in the postseason. Los Angeles went through a 7-1 stretch before dropping its final two games of the season to Houston and Denver.
Los Angeles blasted New England last December, 40-7 as 6-point road favorites. Maye threw for 117 yards, while Herbert put up 281 yards and 3 TD passes.

Chargers vs. Patriots Anytime Touchdown Scorer Picks (Sunday, January 11)
The Patriots scored at least 4 TDs in each of their final four games, which included a 5-TD performance from Maye against the Jets in Week 17. However, Maye was held to 4 TD passes in his last four outings at Gillette Stadium.
In six of the final eight games, the Chargers were limited to 2 TDs or less. The two biggest outputs in the second half of the season came with 4 TDs apiece in wins over the Cowboys and Raiders. Herbert didn’t throw more than 2 TD passes in any of his last eight starts.

Hampton participated in practice on Friday after missing time during the week with a right ankle injury. The first-round pick from last April’s draft scored only 4 TDs in his rookie season but reached the end zone in his last two games against the Cowboys and Texans.

McConkey led the Chargers with 789 receiving yards and 6 TDs, but hasn’t racked up more than 43 yards in any of the last six games. From a TD perspective, the former Georgia Bulldog scored twice in the final six games, including a Week 15 score at Dallas.
New England has given up 17 TDs to opposing wide receivers, tied for the fifth-most in the NFL.
