2026 PGA Championship: Top DraftKings Showdown Plays & Live Bets Ahead of Round 4
The 2026 PGA Championship heads into its final round tomorrow, and my goodness, it is shaping up to be an all-timer. Unlikely underdog Alex Smalley holds a two-stroke lead at -6 heading into the final round, but a whopping 30 players will be within five strokes of him. With very calm and warm conditions in store on Sunday, there is a low number out there for someone, and I expect to see fireworks from a leaderboard chock full of star power.
Looking ahead, we have new data at our disposal to adjust our approach in DFS formats before Round 4 gets underway on Saturday. Conditions have been a bit windy thus far, but a warm and calm Sunday should generate the most scoring opportunities we’ve seen all week. Ahead, we’ll look to identify the players who have shown they are most due for a Round 4 breakout.
Take a look at some of the best pillar players for PGA Championship DFS contests and live betting opportunities.
DraftKings Showdown Golf Strategy
DraftKings Golf Showdown Golf is a one-round Daily Fantasy format in which players aim to construct the best-scoring one-round lineup while staying within the allotted salary cap. To identify value in Golf Showdown, it’s typically best to focus on buy-low opportunities on players who’ve shown uncharacteristically poor putting in the prior round. There is also an opportunity to find leverage by identifying favorable weather splits and players who are more likely to card birdies-or-better.
Round 4 PGA Championship Showdown Pillar Plays
At the 2026 PGA Championship, the opening round showed a particular focus on consistent iron play and approach putting. Aronimink has done an admirable job of testing players throughout their bags. Elite edge play is needed to generate scoring opportunities on the short par-4s, and the Par-5s and Par-3s have proven to be a bear for players who are not in control of their woods and long irons. To the same end, three-putt avoidance will be pivotal, so the players who master their speeds on these greens stand the best chance to score. Identifying value players who check each of these boxes can provide valuable bonus points in the DraftKings Showdown format. The three players below will be foundational plays in my Round 4 Showdown lineups for these reasons.
Rory McIlroy ($11,200)
If you ever get the chance to see Rory McIlroy play the game of golf up close, in person, I highly recommend it! I walked inside the ropes with Rory throughout his round with Brooks today, and he had the disposition of a man who knew he’d righted his wrongs from his opening round. It’s no secret Rory came into this week well-prepared with a few scouting trips and practice rounds. We’re seeing the fruits of that preparation play out now, as McIlroy has ranked top-15 in SG: T2G in each of his last two rounds.
McIlroy’s distance, high-flighted approaches, and trending putter will all serve him well for a Sunday charge. I fully expect him to be in the mix on the back nine tomorrow with all facets of his game clicking now.
Aaron Rai ($7,400)
The Aaronanink narrative wrote itself before this tournament began, and now the Thursday king has given himself a shot at the Wannamaker. Rai is T2 heading into Sunday at -4, and would have had second place all to himself if not for a bogey finish on the difficult 18th. Rai was always going to be a sensible fit at Aronimink. He picked up his lone PGA Tour win on Donald Ross’ Sedgefield Country Club and has proven to be at his best when navigating high winds on courses that do not punish his lack of distance.
Rai ranks 2nd in SG: APP, 8th in SG: Ball Striking, and 22nd in SG: Putting through the first three rounds. That is a highly sustainable baseline to maintain, and if he can continue to play out of the fairway, he’s in a great position to stay atop the leaderboard on Sunday.
Nick Taylor ($6,900)
There was no doubting Nick Taylor’s form leading into this week. He finished top-15 in each of his last two starts and has been a model of consistency all season with his approach play and short game. Taylor’s major history, however, was a red flag. In 19 career major appearances, Taylor has still never finished inside the top-20. For a player who has risen on big stages, like the RBC Canadian Open and WM Phoenix Open, it’s always felt like an inevitability that Taylor would have his moment in a major.
Well, that moment could very well be now. Taylor led the field in SG: APP on Saturday en route to a 65 which was tied for the lowest round of the day. He’ll now head into Sunday tied for 2nd and just two strokes off of Alex Smalley’s lead. If his putter catches fire like we’ve seen before, he will be a dangerous challenger in the final round.
Live Bets To Consider Entering Round 4
To Win Outright: Nick Taylor
Best Available odds: +1800 (DraftKings)
In one of the most wide-open major championship Sundays we’ve ever seen, there are so many worthwhile options to buy in on before the final round. So rather than dissect the prop market, I’m going to focus on a couple of outright plays that still hold value before Sunday begins.
First up, Nick Taylor. There’s a very good chance we see a first-time major champion emerge this week, and Taylor’s ability to rise under pressure makes him a sensible one to rise on Sunday. Taylor is a 5-time PGA Tour winner, with each of his last three wins coming in a playoff. He has a successfull gameplan he can channel after pacing the field with a Saturday 65, and his irons remain in top form over the last month. We expected this sub-7,400-yard track to keep the distance-deficient players in the mix, and at -4 and just 2 strokes back, Taylor may have the best opportunity of his career to win a major in front of him now.
To Win Outright: Justin Rose
Best Available odds: +4000 (DraftKings)
Leading into this week, the narrative surrounding Justin Rose was clear: His course history at Aronimink is undeniable, but his decision to switch to McLaren irons was downright puzzling. Maybe we just needed to allow a short grace period for Rose to acclimate, because the irons did not hold him back on Saturday.
Rose shot a 65, tied for lowest of the day, and ranked 4th for the day in SG: APP. Now that we know what Rose ceiling is capable of, it feels entirely in the cards to see yet another 65 on Sunday. If he can do that, I believe -7 could very well be enough to win this tournament.
Best of luck with your PGA Championship DFS lineups and bets!
