Brazil 2026 World Cup Team Preview, Betting Odds, Predictions & Best Bets
The Brazil national football team enters the 2026 FIFA World Cup with enormous expectations as it looks to end a 24-year drought since last lifting the trophy. A Seleção will look to extend its record as the country with the most World Cup victories to six, should they win the tournament this year.
The sixth-ranked FIFA team will now be led by Italian manager Carlos Ancelotti. Prior boss, Tite, stepped down following Brazil’s quarterfinal loss to Croatia at the 2022 World Cup.

Despite some question marks entering the tournament, Brazil is still considered one of the favorites to hoist the trophy later this Summer.
Most books have Ancelotti’s squad amongst the top four teams in odds to win the tournament. Even so, Brazil’s inconsistencies have far outweighed the talent on the roster over recent years, and it still should be considered a long shot to win it all this time around.
A Seleção also remains in the top four in odds to reach the World Cup Final, just barely behind England, Spain, and France. Depending on how the knockout round draw goes, there will be a path for Brazil to reach the final for the first time in 24 years. However, Brazil’s recent history suggests it could fizzle out earlier than many expect.
Brazil 2026 World Cup Best Bet
Brazil opens as the heavy favorites to win Group C, ahead of Morocco, Scotland, and Haiti. Ancelotti’s squad will take on its toughest opponent, Morocco, in the first match of the tournament on June 13.
Morocco’s dark-horse run at the 2022 World Cup has the Mohamad Ouahbi-led team ranked eighth in the current FIFA rankings. Brazil and Morocco faced off in an international friendly back in 2023, with the African side defeating Brazil 2-1.
Even so, Brazil enters the tournament as significant favorites (-165) over Morocco in the opening match. Should A Seleção defeat the AFCON winners in this match, Ancelotti
and co. should have no problem winning the final two games against Scotland and Haiti, sweeping the group.
Best Bet: Brazil to Win All Group Games (+110)
Brazil 2026 World Cup Players to Watch
Brazil is known for always having some of the finest young talent in football. Below are some of Brazil’s most exciting players to watch during this year’s World Cup.
Raphinha: Brazil’s attack will largely funnel through the 29-year-old attacker, Raphinha. The Barcelona superstar finished fifth in the Ballon d’Or rankings in 2025 following a 48 G/A season in La Liga and the Champions League.
The Brazilian had 19 G/A this season, but has been forced to miss a large chunk of games due to injury. Raphinha has dealt with a recurring hamstring injury, but is expected to be ready for the 2026 World Cup later this Summer.
Vinicius Jr.: Vinicius Jr. enters his second World Cup as arguably the best left winger in the world at just 25-years-old. The Real Madrid star ranks fourth in G/A in La Liga, and has 30 G/A between the Spanish top flight and the Champions League this season.
Vini will now be playing under his former Real Madrid coach, Ancelotti, and should be given every opportunity to shine in the 2026 World Cup. The Brazilian attacker will look to build on the three goal contributions he had in his first World Cup in 2022.
Brazil World Cup History
Brazil’s exit from the 2022 World Cup has left a sour taste in the mouths of many football fans around the world. A Seleção entered its quarterfinal match against Croatia as heavy favorites to advance to the semi-finals. The Tite-led squad would end up losing on penalties, marking the second consecutive quarterfinal exit for Brazil in back-to-back tournaments.
While questions remain about consistency against elite opposition, Brazil’s ceiling remains as high as any nation in the tournament if its attacking stars find rhythm at the right time.
