Capital One Arena Adds Sports Bar To Caesars Retail Sportsbook

Caesars Sportsbook square logoThe home of the Washington Capitals and Washington Wizards just got a little boost for sports bettors. Capital One Arena in Washington D.C. hosts plenty of sporting events and entertainment options, such as NHL and NBA games as well as concerts like Smashing Pumpkins and Iron Maiden. The stadium was also the very first professional sports venue to open a retail sportsbook in the United States.

The Caesars Sportsbook retail location allows for in-person betting, which makes a lot of sense for Capitals and Wizards fans looking to add some extra fun for a matchup. Well, it appears as through the Caesars Sportsbook is getting some minor improvements as the NBA and NHL seasons start out. Let’s see what to expect from the Caesars Sportsbook at Capital One Arena moving forward.

Caesars Sportsbook at Capital One Arena Gets New Sports Bar & Kiosks

Fans of the Washington Wizards and Washington Capitals now have even more reasons to check out their home stadium’s betting offerings. According to Sports Handle, while before there were just seven betting kiosks located in the sportsbook, sports bettors now have access to 20 different machines. These machines are located on the first floor of the sportsbook, although the second floor features a relaxed area for casual sports fans and veteran sports bettors alike to check out.

The newly opened Guy Fieri’s D.C. Kitchen + Bar is featured on the second floor and provides fans with sports bar standards like wings and burgers. These enhancements should make the spot more appealing to not just sports fans, but anyone going to a concert or event at the arena.

Mobile Betting In Washington, D.C.

The retail sportsbook at Capital One Arena gives Washington, D.C. sports bettors a simply way to place wagers. Online betting is also available in the area, although it’s been a bit complicated. Two of the top sports betting operators, Caesars Sportsbook and BetMGM Sportsbook, are available in the state, although you can only access them online in certain areas.

Meanwhile, the DC Lottery platform Gambet DC is available everywhere in the district, although there have been numerous issues with the mobile betting app since launch. The odds have been criticized as being worse than other mobile sportsbooks, while the interface has been a consistent issue. Perhaps the most prevalent example came on Super Bowl Sunday, with the iOS betting app completely shutting down throughout the event.

Other Retail Sportsbooks In Sporting Arenas

The Caesars Sportsbook at Capital One Arena might have been the first of its kind, but plenty of others have opened doors since then. State Farm Stadium, home of the Arizona Cardinals, became the first NFL stadium to break ground on a retail sportsbook for the start of the season with its BetMGM Sportsbook. As you’d imagine the Las Vegas Raiders have a sports betting lounge located at the team’s home field Allegiant Stadium.

And, with the upcoming launch of Ohio sports betting, retail sportsbooks are planned for some local professional stadiums, such as a Bally Bet wagering lounge at Progressive Field, home of the Cleveland Browns.
