A breath of fresh air in the midst of what has been an otherwise unremarkable Fall Swing, the 2026 Baycurrent Classic at Yokohama Country Club welcomes a level of star power we haven’t seen in action since the Tour Championship. This invitational event will showcase plenty of name-brand stars, with Xander Schauffele, Collin Morikawa, Hideki Matsuyama, Justin Thomas, and Wyndham Clark all headlining in Japan.

We’ll have one of the most pristine and picturesque golf courses on the PGA Tour schedule on tap in Yokohama Country Club. Despite the relatively short yardage, it imposes a stern test on this limited field of 72 players. Bogey avoidance stands at a premium, and the course rewards the most skilled ball strikers with plus distance. Although we operate without the aid of strokes gained data from ShotLink here, this is not an event where players have discovered their games. So I’ll weigh recent form much heavier than for the recent birdie-fest events we’ve seen in the Fall Swing.
Now, let’s get into the key facts and info about Yokohama before betting on Baycurrent Classic odds. Be sure to lock in the best sportsbook promo codes from golf betting sites this week.

Baycurrent Classic Odds: Field At A Glance
A rare invitational invite in the midst of the PGA Tour’s Fall Series, The Baycurrent Classic is a no-cut event, featuring a limited field of just 72 players. In order to entice a strong field of players to travel across the globe, it is very hospitable of them to guarantee everyone a full four rounds this week.
If the PGA Tour’s position in the global game of golf has been put into question, the Baycurrent Classic is its answer. Many of its brightest stars have made the trip to the other side of the globe to make their 2026 fall debuts. We’ll see eight of the OWGR top-30 rated players in the world tee it up.
Wyndham Clark is the highest-ranked player in the field and will be amongst the betting favorites for the 2026 Baycurrent Classic on the heels of his 3-win regular season. Despite the strong form and hit for this course, he hasn’t found much success in Japan to date, finishing T48 at Yokohama last year. In addition to Clark, Xander Schauffele, Collin Morikawa, Justin Thomas, Hideki Matsuayama, Jacob Bridgeman, and Min Woo Lee headline as the top favorites this week, each coincidentally competing at the Presidents Cup two weeks ago.
Xander Schauffele is back for his title defense this year. He’s been outspoken about his Japanese heritage, a motivating factor when earning the gold medal at Kasumigaseki for the 2021 Tokyo Olympics. He’ll be joined by Collin Morikawa and Hideki Matsuyama, who have strong Japanese ties of their own, as well as Nico Echavarria and Keegan Bradley to complete the list of Baycurrent Classic past champions in this week’s field.
Introduction To Yokohama Country Club
Yokohama Country Club will get its second crack at hosting the Baycurrent Classic this year, taking over for Accordia Golf Narashino, which hosted this event (formerly the ZOZO Championship) from 2020 to 2024. Following years at Accordia Golf Narashino Country Club, the event transitioned to Yokohama’s premier 36-hole facility, offering a distinct new test. With four guaranteed rounds of action and top-heavy talent mixed alongside Japan Golf Tour Organization (JGTO) qualifiers, it will take a combination of elite ball-striking and driving distance to contend at this new venue.
The event has rich history in its short time on the PGA Tour. The inaugural event in 2020 was won by none other than Tiger Woods. The next event, after a stateside relocation due to COVID-19, went to local superstar Hideki Matsuyama in his first appearance at a PGA Tour event in Japan since winning the Masters. Keegan Bradley, Collin Morikawa, Nico Echavarria, and Xander Schauffele have since followed with entertaining wins of their own over the last four years.
How It Breaks Down
Yokohama Country Club is a par-71 playing to 7,322 yards on the scorecard with a unique mix of three par-3s, two par-5s, and 13 par-4s. It includes a stretch of eight consecutive par-4s (holes 8-15), and there are no par-5s after the 6th hole. That creates a need for patience, as there are very few easy breather holes, especially on the back nine.
Yokohama Country Club presents a traditional Japanese Parkland layout originally designed by Takeo Aiyama in 1960. The routing for this week uses a composite setup consisting of 16 holes from the West Course and two holes from the East Course. The West layout underwent a major 2016 renovation by Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw, demonstrating their signature minimalist philosophy.
As a stark contrast to the first two venues we’ve seen on the Fall swing, Yokohama poses a stern tee-to-green test. In its first year hosting the PGA Tour, it produced a leaderboard that rewarded top ball strikers with plus distance and the ability to scramble for par saves when needed. Outside the confines of the United States, we unfortunately do not have the luxury of ShotLink and strokes gained data to compare with other PGA Tour stops. With that said, it’ll be an important week to reference a combination of recent form, comp course history, and scoring in moderate to difficult conditions.
Yokohama Country Club Course Specs
- Yards: 7,321
- Par: 71 (3x 3s / 13x 4s / 2x 5s)
- Greens: Bent
- Architect: Takeo Aiyama
- Comp Courses: Kasumigaseki CC, Sheshan International GC, Nine Bridges, TPC Kuala Lumpur, Harbour Town, TPC Sawgrass, Colonial, Waialae CC

Course History And Course Comps
The spotlight is always on Hideki Matsuyama whenever he sets foot in Japan. That was amplified when he won the Masters in 2021 and has since reached a fever pitch, having won this event in 2022. One of the most decorated athletes in Japanese sports returns in search of another trophy.
The top 10 in SG: TOT at the Baycurrent Classic over its first five years in Japan are Max Greyserman, Nico Echavarria, Keegan Bradley, Justin Thomas, Hideki Matsuyama, Sungjae Im, Xander Schauffele, Michael Thorbjornsen, Min Woo Lee, and Collin Morikawa.
Course Comps
It’s difficult to confidently identify accurate course comps for this week, given the absence of ShotLink data and a sample size of only one year. If Xander Schauffele’s success in 2025 is any indication, performance across the other Japanese venues seems to translate well at Yokohama. Schauffele won gold at Kasumigaseki and posted two top-10 finishes at Accordia Golf Narashino prior to his 2025 victory, so a comfort and familiarity playing in Japan are worth factoring in this week.
On the basis of short game alone, there is some merit to referencing performance at Augusta National. Each plays on pure, pristine Bentgrass greens. Past event champions, Matsuyama and Woods have of course won at Augusta as well, and the trend of strong overlapping play extends to other names like Xander Schauffele, Collin Morikawa, and Matt McCarty.
Podium finishers of Xander Schauffele, Max Greyserman, and Michael Thorbjorsen in the inaugural Baycurrent Classic at Yokohama last year suggest that distance and total driving are premium skill sets required to contend here. The presence of other strong total drivers inside last year’s top 10, like Rico Hoey, Garrick Higgo, Byeong Hun An, Keith Mitchell, and Min Woo Lee continues to support that notion, so I’ll be looking at performances on other courses of a similar yardage where total driving is emphasized. That includes TPC Toronto, Bellerive CC, Black Desert Resort, and East Lake.
Beyond these comps, it would seem just as important to identify players who can travel overseas to Asia and perform well. From the overseas angle, I’m looking at performance at Kasumigaseki, Nine Bridges, Sheshan International and TPC Kuala Lumpur. With this being a treelined, positional par-71 course under 7,400 yards, performance at Colonial CC, TPC San Antonio, and TPC Sawgrass should serve as solid comps from the PGA Tour.
Combine performance across this list, and the top-10 players in Comp Course History here are Xander Schauffele, Collin Morikawa, Hideki Matsuyama, Denny McCarthy, Justin Thomas, Mac Meissner, Keegan Bradley, Jordan Spieth, Brian Harman, and Maverick McNealy.
Key Stats To Consider for Baycurrent Classic Golf Odds
- SG: APP / SG: Ball Striking
- Prox: 175+
- Good Drives Gained
- Scrambling Gained / Bogey Avoidance
- Par-3 Scoring
- Par-5: Scoring
- SG: T2G (<7,300 Yards & Difficult Scoring Conditions)
- SG: P (L36)
- Course & Comp Course History
To keep it simple, the ideal player for this week should rank above-average in Course & Comp Course History, Good Drives Gained, SG: T2G (<7,200 Yards), SG: APP, and Birdies or Better Gained. There are nine players who fit that criteria: Hideki Matsuyama, Jacob Bridgeman, Xander Schauffele, Collin Morikawa, Davis Thompson, Kurt Kitayama, Keith Mitchell, Michael Thorbjornsen, and Jordan Smith.
Player Spotlight: Kurt Kitayama

We’ve already seen two Japanese-Americans pay homage to their ancestors with a win at this event over the last three years. Could Kurt Kitayama be the next one to follow in the footsteps of Xander Schauffele and Collin Morikawa?
Kitayama has made it a point to play in Japan as often has he can, playing in each of the last four Baycurrent Classics. That familiarity with the travel adjustments needed has paid dividends, as he has finished 5th and T16 within the last three years. While last year did not go as planned for Kitayama here, he’ll enter this week in far improved form, as he ranks 7th in the field in SG: T2G over the last 36 rounds, and finished a career-best 31st in the season-long FedEx Cup Standings.
The 2025 leaderboard at Yokohama paints a very clear picture of what is needed to contend: Driving distance and trending ball-striking. Those are the two strengths of Kitayama’s game, as he’s displayed with wins at TPC Twin Cities and Bay Hill, two courses that place an emphasis on the same skill sets. In such a strong Fall Series field, I expect we’ll see a palatable number on Kitayama’s odds, despite the encouraging form and course fit.
2026 Baycurrent Classic: Player Pool and Model Results
With all the course-fit profiles in mind, I’m leaning early toward the below player pool. Naturally, I’m also looking their way in the PGA Tour odds. I’ve broken the list down by projected pricing/odds tier for DraftKings.

Model Breakdown
In my model, I’m emphasizing SG: APP, Prox 175+, Good Drives Gained, Comp Course History, SG: TOT (<7,300 Yards & Difficult Scoring) and Bogey Avoidance, followed by a more balanced mix of Par-5 Scoring, Par-3 Scoring, SG: Ball Striking and SG: Short Game.
Model Favorites
To little surprise, the most popular player in Yokohama sits atop my model this week. Hideki Matsuyama will look to pick up his second victory in Japan this week after winning the ZOZO Championship in 2022. Matsuyama always puts on a show in his home country and will enter in excellent form as he looks to claim his first victory since the Hero World Challenge nearly one year ago.
After Matsuyama, the rest of my model’s top 10 features Wyndham Clark, Jacob Bridgeman, Ryan Gerard, Xander Schauffele, Christiaan Bezuidenhout, Doug Ghim, Collin Morikawa, Michael Brennan, and Kevin Yu.
When PGA Tour odds open, I’ll begin my card with Kurt Kitayama and then look to have more balanced exposure to players like Michael Brennan, Ryan Gerard, and Kevin Yu, depending on where the Baycurrent Classic odds ultimately fall. Check back in later this week for more updates, and best of luck navigating the Baycurrent Classic odds!
