It’s already beginning to look like the repeat of last year’s two-horse race six matches into the Premier League season, with Manchester City beating Liverpool last weekend to maintain its perfect record, while Arsenal’s only three points behind with a single Brighton-inflicted blemish on its record. And the surprising Seagulls are in third place, helping to make the current continental places occupied by unusual names, along with teams like Brentford, Everton, and Leeds.

Best Bets
Brentford, +270 to draw vs. Liverpool
The Bees currently occupy fourth place in the table, which is where you might expect Liverpool after six matches, but the Reds are all the way down in ninth. That said, though it might be taking a while to gel, Liverpool’s got both new and established talent, and should eventually be in the mix for at least a Europa League spot before much longer. But these teams actually represent a stern test for each other, and in the 12 combined matches they’ve played so far this season, seven have been draws – making a deadlock completely conceivable.
Manchester United, +185 to win vs. Leeds
Manchester United still has just one win to its credit in the Premier League this season, overcoming Ipswich back in August, and last week, drew Spurs in a match that provided frustration for both teams. Leeds, meanwhile, went up on Arsenal in the second half only to let in two late goals in the eventual lose. While Leeds isn’t the ideal place for a visiting team to play, United has the talent and the wherewithal to get a road win and look more like the United many were expecting when the season opened.
Kai Havertz (Arsenal), +145 anytime goalscorer
Kai Havertz didn’t get on the board against Lille in Tuesday’s Champions League action, but only subbed on in the last half-hour, coming in for starter Viktor Gyökeres, and got an assist on Bukayo Saka’s goal to arrive at the final 3-0 scoreline. Though Havertz did return early from international break with a hamstring issue, he started and went for a little more than an hour last weekend, so look for him to start again, and against a Forest defense giving up barely more than a goal a match, a Havertz goal could be the only score in the contest.
Tottenham Hotspur, +120 to win by more than 1.5 goals against Coventry
Certainly Tottenham Hotspur can’t stay in the relegation zone all season, can they? It’s unthinkable that a team with more talent than the average mid-table Premier League team can be having as hard luck a couple of seasons as Spurs are, but that’s where they’re currently residing. A home match against a newly-promoted Coventry City — albeit, a team that’s holding its own in Premier League play so far — seems like a 2-0 slumpbuster in the making.
Though there’s always risk in picking a draw when the object of the match is to win, Brentford and Liverpool’s track record and Brentford’s home edge countering the Reds’ talent gap makes this match stand out.
