The Pick: Jaguars 33, Ravens 7
We’ll take the Jacksonville spread based on head-to-head data along with Baltimore’s ATS struggles at home.
Game Betting Analysis
Is there any way we take the Ravens to cover this game? Well, let’s see what the data says. Short answer, no. The Ravens have failed to cover the spread in seven straight home games, while the Jaguars are 8-1 SU over their last nine games against teams on a losing streak. Baltimore has lost outright in its last seven home games as an underdog, while Jacksonville has also scored the game’s first touchdown in seven of eight games – meaning a fast start is likely. The Jaguars have also covered six of eight meetings against the Ravens, so there’s little desire to test the home dog here, playing with an undrafted rookie quarterback. The Over has hit in three of four meetings along with five straight games for the Ravens when playing at night.

Deciding Factor: Trevor Lawrence’s Efficient, Turnover-Proof Jaguars vs. Ravens Without Lamar Jackson
Jacksonville rolls into M&T Bank Stadium at 5-2 and up three games in the AFC South after torching Indianapolis 42-7 last week, the second straight game its offense has topped 40 combined with its opponent’s point total in a two-week stretch that’s produced 65 and 49 total points. Lawrence has been the driver of that surge, completing 65.7% of his throws for 1,690 yards, 17 touchdowns and just 4 interceptions across seven starts, and the Jaguars as a team carry a +7 turnover differential into Thursday. It isn’t just the offense: Jacksonville’s defense ranks tops in the NFL against the run at 77.4 yards allowed per game and is giving up only 15.9 points per contest, a combination of ball security and run-stuffing that’s tough for any opponent to overcome, let alone one replacing its starting quarterback on a short week.
The Ravens, meanwhile, are 4-4 and have dropped three straight by a combined 84-33, sitting 0-3 against the spread at home this season. Lamar Jackson is out on injured reserve with a thumb injury, and backup Tyler Huntley has already been ruled out for the year with turf toe, leaving undrafted rookie Joe Fagnano — who was ineffective in relief this past Sunday — to make his first career start behind an offensive line dealing with its own questions, with guard John Simpson and tackle Roger Rosengarten both questionable with back and ankle injuries. Baltimore’s clearest path to staying competitive is leaning hard on Derrick Henry, who’s racked up 632 yards and 8 touchdowns on 158 carries (4.0 per carry) and projects for a heavy workload again, but asking a 32-year-old back to single-handedly keep pace with a double-digit spread (Jacksonville -10) against the league’s stingiest run defense is a tall order. If Fagnano turns the ball over even once or two and the Ravens’ banged-up protection breaks down early, this has the look of a blowout rather than a backdoor-cover sweat.
