A Panthers team hoping to elevate to the upper echelon of the NFC after a division crown in 2025 gets a big test on Sunday Night Football primetime showdown, on its home field against the visiting Lions, which have opened the season 2-1 and already seem to be clicking on all cylinders offensively.

Without further ado, let’s dive into three player props to consider for Sunday night’s action. Don’t forget to check out our NFL betting trends page for game data and insights on the week ahead.
Lions-Panthers Best NFL Week 4 Player Props
- Jahmyr Gibbs Over 135.5 Rushing + Receiving Yards
- Bryce Young Over 33.5 Pass Attempts
- Darren Waller Over 26.5 Receiving Yards
Jahmyr Gibbs Over Rushing + Receiving Yards
This is the first of three props that work well together in a game that’s easy to envision the Lions scoring plenty of points and the Panthers have to remain aggressive to try and keep pace. And if Detroit is indeed enjoying offensive success, there’s a very good chance Gibbs is right in the thick of it. That’s certainly been the case over the first three games of the season, when he’s accumulated 463 scrimmage yards and six total touchdowns.
That’s an average of 154.3 total yards per game for the dynamic running back, who’s now facing a Panthers defense that’s surrendered a league-high 434 rushing yards to RBs and has done so at a massive 5.9 yards per carry. Then, Carolina has also given up 14 receptions for 102 yards to the position, while Gibbs already has 21 targets through three games and parlayed them into an 18-156-2 receiving line.
Given he continues to enjoy near full control of Detroit’s ground attack and the Lions have a projected team total of 27 points and climbing, this prop is very much in play.

Bryce Young Over Pass Attempts
We’ll stay on the main theme we established in Gibbs’ entry and turn to Young, whose career does appear to have legitimately been saved by head coach Dave Canales. Young progressively looks worthy of his status as the No. 1 overall pick of the 2023 Draft, and he’s opened the new campaign with 939 passing yards and a 7:2 TD:INT. His accuracy is certainly still a work in progress – he’s sporting just a 59.5% completion rate thus far – but Young is averaging a whopping 40.3 pass attempts per contest. That’s a significant jump from the 29.9 attempts per game he put up during the 2025 regular season, and one fact that suggests the increase could have some sticking power is that Young even threw the ball 36 times in a 34-3 win over the Falcons in Week 2.
Young now may have no choice but to keep firing away through all four quarters Sunday night, considering the caliber of the offense on the other side. Additionally, the Lions, partly due to a slew of injuries in the secondary, haven’t exactly discouraged teams from throwing against them, having allowed 979 passing yards to QBs, the most of any team that’s yet to play its Week 4 game. Detroit has also faced the second-most pass attempts per game (41.3), another metric that certainly supports this prop.
Young has no fewer than the aforementioned 36 attempts he put up in Week 2 and the Lions are allowing an NFL-high 72.0 plays per game, so all signs point to the Over in this scenario.
Original Line: 33.5
Darren Waller Over Receiving Yards
Waller has quickly proven to be a good fit in Canales’ offense, and his immediate chemistry with Young has paid dividends for both players. Waller has been on the receiving end of two of his quarterback’s seven TD tosses to date, and the veteran tight end’s average of 8.6 yards per target is his highest since the 2022 season in Las Vegas. Waller has gone 3-0 to the Over on the 26.5-yard figure during his brief Panthers tenure, compiling ascending totals of 28, 33 and 51 yards over the first three weeks of the season.
The target totals have also risen in each contest going from two in Week 1 to three and eight in Weeks 2 and 3, respectively. Accordingly, his routes run have also been on an upward trajectory with 17, 22 and 28 constituting his numbers on that front. Then, Waller could be in for another busy game Sunday night for a couple of reasons specific to Week 4. To begin with, the Lions have allowed NFL-high figures in receptions (29), receiving yards (351), targets (39) and receiving touchdowns (six) to tight ends, and that even includes Browns and Steelers teams that already played in Week 4.
Additionally, Carolina is listing No. 2 receiver Jalen Coker as questionable with a quadriceps injury, and if the third-year wideout is indeed sidelined, even more targets should flow Waller’s way.
