Best MLB Championship Series Player Props
- Jose Ramirez Over 0.5 Walks
- Yandy Diaz Over 0.5 Singles
Jose Ramirez Over Walks
We’ll take a slightly different approach with Ramirez in this matchup against Freddy Peralta and bank on the red-hot Guardians slugger getting on base with some plate discipline. Ramirez has a good history of such against Peralta, having drawn four free passes against the talented right-hander in 13 career encounters.
Ramirez has never struck out against Peralta in that sample, and although the latter has been sharp with his location this postseason, he pitched to a 3.4 BB/9 during the regular season. Peralta also had multiple walks in three of his four home starts after his trade from the Mets on Aug. 2, and Ramirez had a hefty 11.6% walk rate against right-handed pitching on the road during the regular season.
Ramirez has drawn six walks this postseason as well, and with a .324 average and .986 OPS since the playoffs began, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Peralta tread carefully with him in such a key game.

Yandy Diaz Over Singles
Diaz has been running hot himself over on the Rays’ side of the spectrum, as he’s now boasting a .314 average and .848 OPS this postseason season while recording 11 knocks overall. Six of those hits have been singles, and Diaz had a career-high 131 of them during the regular season as well.
The Guardians have yet to announce their starting pitcher as of early Monday, but Diaz’s above-average contact and line-drive rates always give him an excellent opportunity to have at least one ball drop in. Diaz has also hit safely in seven of eight postseason games, and he managed a stellar .318 average at Tropicana Field during the regular season.
The final point in his favor is Diaz’s strong track record against current Cleveland pitching in general – he owns a collective .329 average and .870 OPS in that split, and the Guardians are likely to roll out any available arms, starter or reliever, to avoid elimination Monday.
