The World Series got off to a rousing start Friday, as the Brewers held off a late Rays rally to escape with a 3-2 win in Game 1. We could be in store for another gem Saturday, as Drew Rasmussen faces off with Logan Henderson.

Best MLB World Series Player Props
- William Contreras Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBI
- Chandler Simpson Over 0.5 Singles
William Contreras Over Hits + Runs + RBI
Contreras got the World Series off to a very productive start, going 2-for-3 with an RBI single. The multi-hit effort was simply an extension of what has been a dynamic postseason, one where Contreras had already mustered a .367 average and 1.157 OPS over 35 plate appearances across the first two rounds. Contreras draws a tough matchup again Saturday with Rasmussen on the hill for Tampa Bay, but it’s one the talented backstop has had success in before.
Contreras has a pair of hits, including a homer, and a walk over six career plate appearances against Rasmussen, and he hasn’t struck out a single time in that sample. Contreras also posted a .302 average, .857 OPS and .371 wOBA against righties at home during the regular season, and he averaged 2.4 hits + runs + RBI at American Family Field across 75 games there during the campaign.

Chandler Simpson Over Singles
Simpson would have fit in seamlessly as a leadoff hitter a generation or two ago, as he has next to no power but is almost guaranteed to make contact every time he’s at the plate. Simpson posted a tiny 7.8 percent strikeout rate during the regular season, and only 22 of his 175 hits went for extra bases. Simpson had put together a serviceable postseason ahead of Game 1, as he had a .240 average with four singles among his six hits, and just one strikeout across 26 plate appearances.
He then had a very rare two-strikeout game in Game 1, but he also rapped out a pair of singles. Brewers starter Logan Henderson was very effective at home all season, but he has been a bit more hittable over his first two postsason starts while giving up six runs (five earned) on five hits. Simpson was also at his best on the road in opposite-handed matchups during the regular season, posting a .341 average and 6.3% strikeout rate in that split while lacing 51 of his 58 hits for singles.
