Considering we’ve got a bit of a foundation under us as bettors in the new season, let’s break down a trio of player props to consider for Monday. Be sure to check out the NBA betting trends page for odds, data and insights on every game.
Best NBA Monday Props
- Derrick White Over 22.5 Points + Assists
- Amen Thompson Over 24.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists
- Ty Jerome Over 34.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists
Derrick White (Celtics vs. Bulls) Over Points + Assists
The Bulls have lost two of their first three games to open the season, and their defense, or lack thereof, has played a big role in their struggles. Chicago has surrendered the third-most points per game (128.0), along with 47.5% shooting, including 35.5% from three-point range. However, when breaking matters down to the positional level, it bears noting the Bulls have especially struggled containing point guards.
Chicago has surrendered the sixth-highest offensive efficiency rating to ones (31.7), and the Bulls have also yielded the fourth-most assists (11.0) and fifth-highest three-point percentage (41.2) to the position. Meanwhile, White has averaged 21.5 points + assists over the first two games while shooting 50.0%, including 38.5% from behind the arc. To top it off, the Bulls are playing at the league’s fastest clip (112.4 possessions per game), which only serves to brighten White’s prospects for a game in which the Celtics carry a slate-high 124.25-point implied team total.

Amen Thompson (Rockets vs. Hawks) Over Points + Rebounds + Assists
Thompson is off to a fantastic start, filling the stat sheet in each of his first three games. The fourth-year guard is averaging 32.7 points + rebounds + assists over that span, shooting 48.7%, including a blistering 50.0% from three-point range. Thompson is averaging 18.0 field-goal + free-throw attempts per contest in that stretch as well, and as was often the case last season, head coach Ime Udoka is giving the 2023 fourth overall pick plenty of run (36.3 min per game).
The Hawks have been middle of the pack when it comes to defending shooting guards thus far, but Thompson doesn’t quite profile as a traditional two-guard. Thompson’s rebounding is particularly impressive, and that, combined with his shooting efficiency and the fact the Rockets have a solid 117.5-point implied team total put this prop very much within his range.
Original Line Publish: 24.5
Ty Jerome (Jazz vs. Grizzlies) Over Points + Rebounds + Assists
Jerome has looked like a legitimate All-Star through the Grizzlies’ surprising 3-0 start, as the veteran point guard has been pivotal figure in that success. Jerome is averaging 34.7 points, 5.7 assists and 4.3 rebounds while shooting 56.3%, including 42.9% from behind the arc. The 29-year-old already provided a hint of what was to come late last season, when he averaged 28.2 points + rebounds + assists across 22.6 minutes per contest over 15 games at the tail end of the campaign.
Jerome now has a clear-cut starting role that’s affording him 31.5 minutes per game so far, and as his previously cited numbers indicate, he’s putting that extra playing time to very good use. Jerome boasts a massive 32.1% usage rate thus far as well, and he’s now facing a very fast-paced team in the Jazz that he went off for 58 points + rebounds + assists across 32 minutes in the season opener. Utah had already gone into Sunday’s 132-123 loss to the Lakers allowing 51.8% shooting to point guards and an NBA-high 40.5 offensive efficiency rating to the position, and that was before Luka Doncic erupted for 52 points, 10 assists and eight rebounds across 38 minutes.
