2026 NFL Draft: Mr. Irrelevant Betting Odds, Market Analysis & Picks
Mr. Irrelevant, the last pick of the NFL Draft, has typically been a player that doesn’t do a whole lot in the NFL. San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy has brought a lot of positive attention to the draft slot, making it a more intriguing draft slot to pay attention to.
It’s also gotten its own section in the 2026 NFL Draft props page on DraftKings Sportsbook.
Over the last 10 draft there have been two cornerbacks, one safety, one defensive end, two quarterbacks, two linebackers, one tight end, and one wide receiver taken with the final pick.
This year, the Denver Broncos have the last two picks in the draft.
Below, we’ll examine the odds for 10 positions provided along with analysis and suggestions on whether it’s worth wagering.
Defensive Line/Edge Mr. Irrelevant Odds & Analysis
The Broncos are still fairly deep along the defensive line, but did lose John Franklin-Myers in free agency to the Tennessee Titans.
Using a mock draft simulator, some defensive linemen could make sense, including Texas edge rusher Ethan Burke, LSU edge rusher Patrick Payton, and Minnesota defensive lineman Deven Eastern.
Payton would be a player worth considering after posting three years of starting experience in the ACC and SEC.
He’d be a great backup option.

Wide Receiver Mr. Irrelevant Odds & Analysis
The Broncos definitely need to add more options to their wide receiver room. They’ve made some late-round picks on the position in the past with Devaughn Vele.
However, the Broncos will address this position well before the seventh round.
For example, at No. 62 overall, their first pick, which is the second round, Malachi Field, Elijah Sarratt, Chris Bell, and Zachariah Branch could be options.

Offensive Lineman Mr. Irrelevant Odds & Analysis
Over the last three Broncos drafts, all of which Payton has been involved in, they took a center with their last pick in two drafts.
Looking at their offensive line, backup tackle Matt Peart has dealt with numerous injuries, including an MCL tear last season.
Additionally, left guard Ben Powers is entering the final year of his deal, and backup guard Alex Palczewski is signed through 2027.
Looking at some of the prospects that could be there with the final pick, Washington tackle Carver Willis, who will almost certainly be a guard at the next level, ran in the 78th percentile for the 40-yard dash, so that athleticism and his run blocking ability could be helpful.
The offensive line is never a bad position to load up on depth-wise, and the Broncos have done so in two of their last three drafts.
Odds: +450

Running Back Mr. Irrelevant Odds & Analysis
The Broncos drafted R.J. Harvey in the second round last season, so he’ll be there for quite a while. However, J.K. Dobbins is only signed for two more years, and Jaleel McLaughlin is a free agent after this season.
Some are running back prospects that kind of fit the mold of those running backs. Alabama’s Jam Miller is similarly measurables-wise and ran a 40-yard dash in the 4.4s.
There’s also Jaydn Ott, who’s not as athletic as McLaughlin, but did catch plenty of passes in college.
There are options, but I’m not sure they’ll need to; they could always pick one up as an undrafted free agent.
Odds: +600

Cornerback Mr. Irrelevant Odds & Analysis
The Broncos have a fairly strong cornerback room with Riley Moss, Patrick Surtain II, and Jahdae Barron. They also have plenty of depth with Reese Taylor, Ja’Quan McMillan, and Kris Abrams-Draine.
One late-round player that’s somewhat interesting to me at the cornerback spot is Toriano Pride Jr. He’s undersized, but ran a sub-4.4 40-yard dash and could add some slot corner depth to replace McMillan after his deal is up.
That said, I don’t think there are enough options to feel great about cornerback being the position.
Odds: +700

Linebacker Mr. Irrelevant Odds & Analysis
Consider linebacker a position of need for the Broncos, so this is a possibility. As for players who could be there, TCU’s Namdi Obiazor is an athletic former safety, Texas A&M’s Scooby Williams is tall and good in run defense, and Louisiana’s Jaden Dugger is 6’4”, 240 pounds, and has an 84” wingspan, so he looks the part.
There are plenty of options for an undervalued position that the Broncos could use some help at.
This is worth a shot.

Safety Mr. Irrelevant Odds & Analysis
The Broncos have a lot of safeties in Talanoa Hufanga, former late-round pick JL Skinner, Brandon Jones, Devon Key, and more.
There are some interesting prospects like Arizona’s Dalton Johnson, who’s been a tackling machine in college, but he might not have the measurable to hold up in the NFL.
There are enough options here to feel confident in.

Quarterback Mr. Irrelevant Odds & Analysis
Jarrett Stidham and Sam Ehlinger are both free agents after this season, so drafting a quarterback here could be an option, such as a Luke Altmyer or Mark Gronkowski. They could also look to options like Taylen Green, Haynes King, or Cole Payton to serve in the Taysom Hill role.
Quarterback is never a bad position to take a swing on with the last overall pick.
Odds: +1200

Tight End Mr. Irrelevant Odds & Analysis
Tight end, much like wide receiver, is one of those positions I expect the Broncos to address much earlier than the last pick of the draft. They took a tight end in the seventh round last year, and this year, there are better options in the middle rounds like Michael Trigg, Sam Roush, or Oscar Delp.
I’d pass on this; the Broncos will draft one sooner.
Odds: +1500

Special Teams Mr. Irrelevant Odds & Analysis
While a kicker, punter, or long snapper seems like a position that would often be taken last overall, we haven’t seen one taken as Mr. Irrelevant since Ryan Succop in 2009.
These guys are either already in place, a veteran will be brought in, or this will be a spot addressed at a later date.
