2026 ATP Hamburg Open Bracket Analysis
Quarter 1
Felix Auger Aliassime is the No. 1 seed in Hamburg, and the top name on the brackets with a first round encounter against Vit Kopriva. FAA hasn’t been the best player to back this clay court season, and has a trend to fade with younger opponents on a clay court surface. His section is not easy, with Zizou Bergs underneath while both Frances Tiafoe and Camilo Ugo Carabelli lurk in the section under his.
Ugo Carabelli is the standout name from this section in terms of clay court specialists, while both Tiafoe and FAA feel like trap picks. Both Bergs and Kamil Majchrzak are capable of going on runs as well, so this quarter is actually very difficult for the top seed to navigate through. All in all, Ugo Carabelli is a solid sleeper pick and one to seriously consider over the favorites Tiafoe and FAA.
Quarter 2
Defending champion Cobolli is in Quarter 2, but will have an immediate test in Round 2 with a potential meeting against Jakub Mensik who has the second-shortest odds to win the Hamburg title. This explains why last year’s champion only has +2200 to win entering, while Karen Khachanov lurks at the very bottom following a solid showing in Rome.
Khachanov is the safest pick based on his consistency and path in the brackets, while the winner of the potential Cobolli-Mensik meeting is a great pick to lift the final hardware. If Cobolli does get past a hypothetical meeting with Mensik, his +2200 will shorten to near favorite odds so the best bet in this bracket might be taking a ticket on last year’s champion, then going from there.
Quarter 3
Despite Alex De Minaur being the top name in Quarter 3, he is a big fade this current clay court season and has a very difficult match against clay court specialist Francisco Cerundolo in Round 1 (Cerundolo might be the favorite). If Demon somehow survives, he will likely get another clay court monster in Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, so this bottom section of Quarter 3 becomes avoidable with too much difficulty.
Above them is the tournament favorite Joao Fonseca, who is not having the launch pad clay court season many were expecting – that went to Rafael Jodar instead. Can Fonseca rebound? It will be tough with a seemingly resurgent Luciano Darderi potentially waiting in Round 2. Darderi was slumping until Rome, so it’ll be interesting to see if he can continue to propel this week or run out of steam. This quarter can go in a number of ways.
Quarter 4
Quarter 4 is the American Quarter with both Tommy Paul and Ben Shelton as the top names, setting up a likely encounter in the quarterfinals. Shelton’s path is much better to get to the quarters than Paul’s is, with the latter having to face fellow American Ethan Quinn in Round 1 before facing either Terence Atmane or Tomas Martin Etcheverry in Round 2.
The names to consider outside the two Americans are the two names facing each other in Round 1. The winner of Atmane vs. TME is a great dark horse pick to come out of Quarter 4, but on paper its likely to be one of the Americans in Paul or Shelton.
Tournament Pick: Ben Shelton +600
Sleeper Pick: Karen Khachanov +1200

2026 ATP Geneva Open Bracket Analysis
Quarter 1
Welcome back ‘Clay’lor Fritz, just in time for Roland Garros as he is the No. 1 seed in Geneva with a first round BYE. Can he reach the quarterfinals? That’s a tough question to answer but the short answer from us is, no. Why? Mainly because Casper Ruud is sitting at the bottom of Quarter 1 as the event’s No. 6 seed, but currently playing like the best player in the world on the ATP Tour not named Jannik Sinner.
Ruud’s love affair with clay is well-known, as he is set up nice to face Fritz for Quarter 1 bragging rights. Between the two, we’ll take the in-form Ruud on his favorite surface while Fritz will be looking for competitive matches to quickly get back to a top-tier level. It would be a surprise to see Ruud lose before the semifinals unless he wants to get to Paris quickly and he pulls out after a deep run in Rome.
Quarter 2
Quarter 2 sees Cam Norrie as the top name as Geneva’s No. 3 seed, getting the winner of an Argentinian battle between Marco Trungelliti and Mariano Navone. The latter is a great pick to win the quarter, having a wonderful clay court season thus far and should be the only name considered here not named Norrie. The winner of a potential Norrie vs. Navone encounter should take Quarter 2, as Jaume Munar is currently in fade-form despite clay success a year ago.
Quarter 3
Learner Tien gets the first round BYE in Quarter 3 as the No. 4 seed, but backing him as the quarter’s favorite is a hard sell. Tien’s hatred for clay is well-known, although he showed signs of improvement in Rome. It’s still a long way to go, so we look up at the section as his best friend on tour Alex Michelsen lies. He faces a tough clay court opponent in Sebastian Baez Round 1, so it’s not looking great for the young Americans.
Stefanos Tsistipas actually has a solid path to reach the quarterfinals, although it won’t be easy with Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard in Round 1. We also mentioned Baez who is an excellent pick, while the winner of Alejandro Tabilo and Stan Wawrinka could also make noise. Tsitsipas is the best name on paper to consider, while Baez actually presents the best value on this surface.
Quarter 4
Alexander Bublik is a popular pick in Quarter 2, a pretty solid draw in front of him as well pending the play of Thiago Agustin Tirante. Tirante is a wild card in this section, and the only name that can take out Bublik. Juan Manuel Cerundolo has been performing under expectations this clay court season while both Arthur Rinderknech and Lorenzo Sonego, although capable of runs, have also underachieved slightly in the last few months. If not Bublik, Tirante is the only name we see making it past the quarterfinals here.
Tournament Pick: Alexander Bublik
Sleeper Pick: Casper Ruud
