2026 ATP Rolex Monte Carlo Masters Bracket Analysis
Quarter 1
Alcaraz looks to defend his Monte Carlo title as the No. 1 seed in this event, sitting a top the bracket in Quarter 1 with some solid competitors lurking below. Nothing should scare Carlitos bettors looking at the draw, although the -110 odds are quite head-scratching considering the Spaniard’s recent struggles. The change of surface may help, but seeing minus-value is a bit much for his current form compared to Jannik Sinner (we’ll get to him in a minute).
I never though I would say Grigor Dimitrov is the least worrisome name in a draw that contains Frances Tiafoe, Sebastian Baez, Stan Wawrinka, Terence Atmane and Tomas Martin Etcheverry. But here we are as Dimitrov might be the least worrisome name for Carlos in this section. On paper, this is much easier than what we might actually see on the court – barring a turnaround from Carlitos’ form, which is very doable and expected.
Under that, lies Alejandro Tabilo, Marton Fucsovics, Jiri Lehecka and Alexander Bublik. These are all players that on a clay court surface should fall to Alcaraz. So looking at Quarter 1 for Carlitos, his toughest opponents might be prior to the quarterfinals but he should take the quarter, albeit difficult.
Quarter 1 Pick: Carlos Alcaraz -110
Quarter 1 Sleeper: Jiri Lehecka +5000
Quarter 2
We haven’t seen much of Lorenzo Musetti lately, the top name in Quarter 2 as the No. 4 seed. Alex De Minaur, however, is also in this quarter as the No. 5 seed. This is a very difficult bracket for both, but let’s start with the Italian who will (likely) face Valentin Vacherot out of the gates. After, Hubert Hurkacz, Luciano Darderi, Jakub Mensik and Fabian Marozsan await – all of which can go on deep runs and even win the quarter. This won’t be easy for Musetti.
For Demon, his section is a bit lighter but still not easy with names such as Cam Norrie, Miomir Kecmanovic, Denis Shapovalov and Flavio Cobolli. This seems very much like a good part of the bracket to mark as our quarter of death, as this feels very much a toss up with everyone listed. De Minaur has the easier path of the two top seeds, as Mensik is playing very well while Darderi has been a serial winner on clay this season.
We would feel much more confident in Musetti if he didn’t withdraw from events prior, but he did reach the final a year ago while also playing as a top player on clay courts the last few years. We’ll stick with the Italian here, but conviction is extremely low. Darderi is a great sleeper, as fatigue would be the only concern with a deep run this past week. Forza!
Quarter 2 Pick: Lorenzo Musetti +4000
Quarter 2 Sleeper: Luciano Darderi +15000
Quarter 3
Alexander Zverev
is the top seed in Quarter 3, with a pretty favorable path to the quarterfinals where opposite of him Daniil Medvedev awaits. It’s no secret Meddy hates the clay court, so looking at his section first the name that stands out is Joao Fonseca. With that said, his odds to win are not very valuable and there isn’t a lot of conviction in the other names in this section such as Karen Khachanov or Gabriel Diallo. Meddy still presents the best odds from a talent and value standpoint – not to mention one of the best ATS marks entering this event (10-2 ATS last 12 matches).
Zverev’s part of the bracket mainly has Andrey Rublev to deal with, as the winner of Quarter 3 should be one of these two long-haired seeds. Rublev will get Nuno Borges out of the gate with the winner of Zizou Bergs and Adrian Mannarino awaiting. These are names that Rublev, on paper, should win against considering he does have a finals appearance at this event in 2021.
The easier path is Zverev, getting Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard or a lucky loser first, so he would be the main pick with Rublev as our sleeper. Meddy presents great value for the sleeper pick as well – but his love affair with clay isn’t the best.
Quarter 3 Pick: Alexander Zverev +1400
Quarter 3 Sleeper: Andrey Rublev +13000
Quarter 4
Can anyone take out Sinner? Yes. Will anyone take out Sinner? Probably not. His form is better than Alcaraz’s and his value is plus-money. He should be the top ticket you take at this event and therefore is our pick to win the quarter. The real intrigue will probably come in the Round of 16 between a few names such as Francisco Cerundolo or Stefanos Tsitsipas. Cerundolo is very difficult to beat on clay, but Tsitsipas is a winning machine at Monte Carlo. Despite coming off one of his worst career losses in Miami, he has won Monte Carlo three of the last five years.
Sinner will probably have little concern if he runs into the Greek, however, while the top of his quarter doesn’t seem too concerning either. Felix Auger Aliassime is a dangerous opponent he could potentially face, along with Casper Ruud who is as good as they come on the clay court surface. Marin Cilic isn’t a bad choice outside Sinner, but to be honest it’s tough to see any name outside Sinner win this quarter.
Quarter 4 Pick: Jannik Sinner +105
Quarter 4 Sleeper: Felix Auger Aliassime +5000
