Detroit Pistons vs. Cleveland Cavaliers Game 6 Preview, Picks & Odds for Friday, May 15, 2026
Game 6 between the Detroit Pistons (2-3) and Cleveland Cavaliers (3-2) is set for 7 p.m. Eastern on Amazon Prime. Duncan Robinson missed the previous game with back soreness, and the sharpshooter is questionable to play.
Can the Pistons extend the series and set themselves up for a Game 7 at home?
Pistons vs. Cavaliers Betting Analysis
A Tobias Harris triple extended Detroit’s lead to 103-94 with three minutes remaining in the fourth quarter. Unfortunately for the Pistons, they went scoreless from this point on, which allowed the Cavaliers to send the game to overtime and ultimately prevail.
Detroit did not score during this crucial stretch largely because Cleveland aggressively trapped Cade Cunningham and forced others to make plays. Nobody stepped up on the Pistons, which has been a running theme throughout this postseason.
Jalen Duren, in particular, is invisible on offense. He has scored 13+ points in only one of 12 games this postseason. Pistons head coach J.B. Bickerstaff actually benched him for the entire fourth quarter and overtime in favor of Paul Reed, who has scored 36 points in 41 minutes this series.
On the other side, Evan Mobley did an excellent job of attacking mismatches and making plays defensively. James Harden and Max Strus also carried the offense with Donovan Mitchell having a poor game.
The Cavaliers are 6-0 at home this playoffs with a 120.4 offensive rating and 8.6 net rating. They can close out this series at home and reach their first Eastern Conference Finals since 2018. It would also be the first time the franchise made the Eastern Conference Finals without LeBron James since 1992.
The best bet for Game 6 is taking the Cavaliers to cover the 3.5-point spread as favorites. They are excellent at home, and look for Cleveland to stifle Detroit’s offense by blitzing or trapping Cunningham for most of the game. It’s hard to have faith in the Pistons’ role players at this point, especially if Duncan Robinson is sidelined again.
