San Antonio Spurs vs. Oklahoma City Thunder Game 2 Preview, Picks & Odds for Wednesday, May 20, 2026
Game 2 between the San Antonio Spurs (1-0) and Oklahoma City Thunder (0-1) is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. Eastern on NBC. De’Aaron Fox missed the opening clash with an ankle sprain and holds a questionable tag for Game 2. If the All-Star remains sidelined, then rookie Dylan Harper will presumably be in the starting lineup again.
Spurs vs. Thunder Betting Analysis
Victor Wembanyama showed his GOAT potential in Game 1 by dropping 41 points on 14-for-25 shooting along with 24 rebounds, three assists, and four stocks. He generated an unlimited supply of rim pressure on offense, and his defense was the main reason behind why the Thunder made just 42.8% of their two-point attempts. San Antonio finished +16 during Wembanyama’s 48 minutes and -9 during the 10 minutes he rested.
Dylan Harper also stepped up big time with Fox sidelined. The rookie stuffed the box score to the tune of 24 points, 11 rebounds, six assists, and seven steals. Harper was everywhere on the court and defended Shai Gilgeous-Alexander at a high level when matched up against the MVP.
The scary part for Thunder fans is that the Spurs won despite only making 30.2% of their triples and losing the points off turnovers battle by 11 points.
Meanwhile, San Antonio’s defense loaded up on Gilgeous-Alexander and often blitzed him. Swarming Gilgeous-Alexander worked, as he was held to 24 points on 7-for-23 shooting. Chet Holmgren and Ajay Mitchell provided minimal help offensively, which allowed the Spurs to get away with doubling Gilgeous-Alexander.
Wembanyama was the best player on the court, but Alex Caruso gave him a run for his money. The veteran scored 31 points and racked up four stocks. Caruso made winning play after winning play, and Oklahoma City tied San Antonio during his 31 minutes. It’s unfortunate for the Thunder that they essentially wasted this Caruso performance.
The best bet for Game 2 is taking Holmgren to score a maximum of 14 points. Wembanyama’s length neutralizes Holmgren’s turnaround jumper, and San Antonio’s physical wings keep Holmgren off balance. He scored eight points in Game 1, and he has gone under 14.5 points in four of five games against the Spurs this season.
