San Antonio Spurs vs. Oklahoma City Thunder Game 7 Preview, Picks & Odds for Saturday, May 30, 2026
Game 7 between the San Antonio Spurs (3-3) and Oklahoma City Thunder (3-3) is scheduled for 8 p.m. Eastern on NBC. Ajay Mitchell remains sidelined due to a calf strain.
Can the Thunder become the first reigning champion to reach the NBA Finals since the 2019 Warriors? Or will the Spurs advance to basketball’s biggest stage for the first time since 2014?
Spurs vs. Thunder Betting Analysis
The Spurs faced elimination in Game 6 and responded accordingly. They made their triples and defended at a high level, which drove them to a 92-64 lead at the end of the third quarter. It was utter domination. San Antonio clearly played with more intensity and energy.
Victor Wembanyama led the way with 28 points, 10 rebounds, two assists, and five stocks. Although the superstar settled for slightly too many jumpers (nitpicking here), it’s hard to fault him when he made four of his nine attempts from deep. Wembanyama’s defense was drastically improved compared to the Game 5 disaster, too.
Stephon Castle contributed 17 points, five rebounds, and nine assists on 50% shooting from the field. The UConn product hounded Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and defended with more discipline than usual. Factor in a big game from Dylan Harper off the bench, and San Antonio threw a massive punch in Game 6.
On the flip side, Gilgeous-Alexander went 6-for-18 from the field, and Oklahoma City shot 25% from beyond the arc. It was an abysmal all-around performance from the champs.
Cason Wallace cannot be lumped into the group because he showed up to play. The Kentucky product recorded 11 points on 3-for-4 shooting from distance and notched three steals. Look for Wallace to see heavy minutes in a win-or-go-home Game 7.
The best bet for this final contest is backing Oklahoma City to win the game and cover the 3.5-point spread as favorites. The Thunder are 17-3 at home in the playoffs since acquiring Alex Caruso and Isaiah Hartenstein during the 2024 offseason, including 2-0 in Game 7s. They play with far more energy and shoot more efficiently at home compared to on the road. Oklahoma City also knows how to navigate a Game 7 environment, while it’s a new experience for San Antonio.
