UEFA Champions League Match Betting Previews, Odds & Analysis for Tuesday, April 7, 2026

The UEFA Champions League Quarter Finals are set to kick off Tuesday, April 7, at 3 p.m. ET when Spaniard giants Real Madrid host the Bundesliga Champions, Bayern Munich, for a heavyweight battle at the Bernabeu.

Just 500 miles away, Sporting will host the English Premier League’s top club, Arsenal, on the East Coast of the Iberian Peninsula at the Estadio Jose Alvalade in Lisbon, Portugal. These two clubs have met several times over the past decade in both the Champions League and the Europa League, most recently during round 5 of the 24/25 UCL season. Arsenal dominated Sporting in their home stadium, winning this match 5-1.

Real Madrid and Bayern Munich last met during the 23/24 UCL Quarter Finals, when Los Blancos pulled off a miraculous comeback in stoppage time of the second leg. Bayern Munich has historically struggled against Real Madrid, winning just one of the club’s last eight encounters, dating back to 2016.

Real Madrid vs. Bayern Munich Odds & Analysis

As a soccer fan, it’s always exciting when two of the biggest clubs from different countries face off in the Champions League. Both Real Madrid and Bayern Munich dominated their opponents in the opening knockout round, leading us to believe we could be in for an all-time tie. If it’s anything like what we saw two years ago, that may just be the case.

When analyzing this matchup, it’s important to note the recent form of both clubs. Real Madrid’s chances of winning La Liga have dwindled even further after a 2-1 defeat to Mallorca over the weekend. It wouldn’t be outrageous to think Alvaro Arbeloa’s squad will put extra emphasis on trying to win the most coveted hardware in Europe, with a domestic trophy all but out of reach.

On the contrary, Bayern Munich, who sit nine points ahead of the pack in the Bundesliga table, will have their sights set on winning multiple trophies this season, with their domestic league nearly clinched. Bayern’s dominance this calendar year has been nothing short of extraordinary. Vincent Kompany’s club has lost just one game in 2026, and only two since November of 2025. They enter this tie on a three-game win streak, dominating their last three opponents by an aggregate score of 11-3.

With that being said, none of the opponents The Reds have faced in that span quite live up to what they will be up against on Tuesday afternoon. Real Madrid has historically dominated at the Bernabeu, and has lost just three games across all competitions on their home field this season. If Bayern can limit Kylian Mbappe and Real Madrid’s attack in this first leg, Kompany should feel good about his club’s chances heading back to the Allianz Arena next week.

While Bayern Munich will likely play slightly more conservatively knowing the second leg is back home, it is important to note that Real Madrid will be without first-choice goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois, in this first leg. Madrid can ill afford to concede multiple goals as they have in each of its last two games, and that will be easier said than done with the star-studded trio of Luis Diaz, Harry Kane, and Michael Olise all set to start in this match.

Sporting vs. Arsenal Odds & Analysis

Against all odds, Sporting finds itself in the quarterfinals after a miraculous comeback against Bodo/Glimt in the first round of the knockout stage. The Portuguese side found itself down 3-0 after the first leg in Norway, only to head home for the second leg and win 5-0 in extra time.

Now they will have the difficult task of facing one of the most dominant teams this season, Arsenal. The Gunners finished the UCL group stage winning all eight matches, conceding just four goals in those eight games. Apart from their impeccable form in Europe, Arsenal also sit atop the English Premier League table with a nine-point advantage on second place as of today.

Mikel Arteta’s squad will return to Lisbon, where they dominated Sporting 5-1 during last year’s Champions League season. Sporting will hope to avoid such a grave deficit in the first leg once again, but that will be much easier said than done versus an Arsenal squad that has been at the top of their game all season.

Luckily for Sporting, Arsenal’s squad will not feature its strongest 11 players, with some significant names ruled out with injury. Headlining this list is English winger Bukayo Saka, who was ruled out by Arteta, along with full-back Jurrien Timber. Arsenal will be happy to have captain Martin Odegaard, who missed nearly two months with an ankle injury, back in the lineup.

Sporting will need to take advantage of Arsenal’s lack of depth in this match, but that won’t be easy with the quality that Arteta still has available, specifically at goalkeeper with David Raya. Sporting was lucky to get one past Raya last time these teams met, which is already better than what most teams are able to accomplish versus the Spanish GK. Arsenal has kept 20 clean

sheets with Raya in goal this season, and will need a solid performance from their keeper with a scorching Sporting attack. Rui Borges’ squad has scored 13 goals over their last three matches, with midfielder Pedro Goncalves accounting for four of them.

We start things off with Mbappe, and for obvious reasons. Real Madrid will only go as far as the France international takes them, and if there’s one thing Mbappe is known for, it’s showing up when it matters most. Mbappe has been the top goalscorer in the UCL this season with 14 goals thus far.

For our second forward option, I went with Diaz, who should benefit greatly from the return of Bayern’s number nine Kane. The Colombian winger has been impressive all season, racking up 7 G+A in his eight games played in Europe.

Moving into the midfield, we went with Uruguayan Federico Valverde. Valverde moves all around the pitch under Arbeloa’s system, and the 27-year-old has thrived in his new role. The free kick specialist has scored in four of his last five games for Real Madrid, including a hat trick in the first leg of Madrid’s tie with Manchester City.

We stayed in Real Madrid’s midfield for our next selection, Arda Guler. Guler has been one of the best creators in world football, tied for the second most (4) assists in the Champions League this season. The Turkish international is averaging 2.5 key passes per game in Europe, and will have a pair of world class finishers in Mbappe and Vinicius Jr. to feed throughout this game.

Onto defenders, we went with Kompany’s first choice right back, Josip Stanisic. The Croatian defender has been solid in defense all season long, and will have a prime opportunity to showcase his skills against the best of the best.

For our final defender, we went with Gabriel Magalhaes from Arsenal. Gabriel has been one of the best defenders and a pivotal part of Arsenal’s success this season. The Brazilian center back has also proven to be one of Arsenal’s greatest threats in set piece situations.

Moving onto goalkeeper, we selected Raya. As discussed in our analysis, Raya has been the standard for all goalkeepers for a couple of seasons at this point. The Spanish international has performed well against this Sporting squad in the past, and will do so again here.

For our final spot, we went with Arsenal’s Odegaard. It will be important to keep track of Arteta’s lineup when it becomes available as Odegaard may be coming off of the bench in this match. Regardless, the Norwegian will have the responsibility of linking play and creating chances with so many key players out. Look for him, or whoever Arteta plays in that CAM position to thrive in this match.
