2026 WTA Prague Open Bracket Analysis
Quarter 1
Taking a Czech player might not be a bad idea, with the top five seeds all from Czechia. Last year’s champion, Marie Bouzkova, is the No. 1 seed and the top of the brackets. Her first round opponent is tough, Jessica Bouzas Maneiro, but if Bouzkova can get past her then the draw opens up nicely for the 2025 champion. All the threats under Bouzkova include Maya Joint, Eva Lys and No. 5 seed and fellow countrywoman Tereza Valentova. Of the three, Lys might be a nice dark horse to consider.
Joint, outside a popular win over Serena Williams at Wimbledon, has had a 2026 to forget while Valentova has also struggled to find consistency with a bit higher expectations this season. Lys has also proven that when she gets going, she is difficult to take out with solid court coverage and power. Still, injuries have held her back in 2026, so the conviction still lands on Bouzkova although Valentova and Lys are worth dark horse looks.
Quarter 2
Nikola Bartunkova is the top name in Quarter 2 as the No. 4 seed, with a solid path to reach the quarterfinals where she should be the favorite regardless. Daria Snigur as the No. 8 seed poses the only real threat for Bartunkova in this quarter, so don’t overthink this part of the draw and take whichever of the two you prefer. Each player’s first round opponent is their toughest match until a potential quarterfinal showdown, so if you want to wait then feel free but our conviction actually lies with Snigur with a slightly easier path.
Quarter 3
The stand out name in Quarter 3 is the No. 3 seed Sara Bejlek, who has been playing near-elite level tennis in 2026 when playing on hard court surfaces. However, her draw is far from easy with a typically high-energy Anna Blinkova in Round 1 before potentially facing the winner of Maria Timofeeva and Aliaksandra Sasnovich in Round 2.
The section above is much easier with No. 7 seed Diane Parry and Lilli Tagger as the only real threats. Parry should be the look based on simplicity of the draw but whoever comes out of the bottom part of Quarter 3 is going to be a dangerous player to face with top form needed to survive. On paper, Bejlek is the pick while Parry presents a great opportunity for a dark horse with a favorable road to the semifinals.
Quarter 4
While Barbora Krejcikova is penciled in as the No. 2 seed, she may withdraw following a grueling week of tennis in Athens in which she reached the final. Assuming Barbs is playing, she should reach the quarterfinals although names such as Linda Fruhvirtova and Alycia Parks are more than capable of beating a half-energy opponent. Antonia Ruzic in the top part of Quarter 4 presents a great sleeper pick should Barbs withdraw or face fatigue issues throughout.

2026 WTA Hamburg Ladies Open Bracket Analysis
Quarter 1
Quarter 1 has two players to circle for a semifinal appearance with top seed Oleksandra Oliynykova and No. 7 seed Yulia Putintseva. Poots is in a part of the draw with three qualifiers, so it might be wise to see who gets placed where as a potential dark horse. Qualifiers we do like include Elina Avanesyan and Elena Pridankina. Both players showed great form a week ago in their tournaments, with Avanesyan playing tough tiebreakers in her eventual defeat. Feel free to wait for qualifier placements, but if not then start with the top two seeds in this quarter.
Quarter 2
Anna Bondar enters as the No. 4 seed and top name in Quarter 2, given a great path to try and take advantage of. The clay court season has been overall solid for Bondar, and really has no excuse not to reach the quarterfinal stage where any of the four women listed below could cause damage. Sara Sorribes Tormo faces Alina Charaeva, and while both have upset potential the real threats are below them in a first round meetings between Darja Semenistaja and Sinja Kraus. The likely quarterfinal rep in the bottom of Quarter 2 will likely be the winner of that match, but Bondar’s form on clay this season combined with draw outlook is a bit overwhelming to reach on anyone else before the event begins.
Quarter 3
Quarter 3 is a gauntlet, with a handful of names that could win the event along with a potential withdrawal for Paula Badosa as she is playing in a final out in Romania. While Badosa’s form is worth a look, her fatigue isn’t. She may also withdraw to prep for the U.S. Open swing, although she might also want more matches under her belt to elevate her ranking. Either way, she’s avoidable for now but worth keeping an eye on should she play and advance.
Panna Udvardy is the No. 3 seed and worth a look should Badosa withdraw, as Udvardy has been stellar on clay this season and looked good in Iasi before running into Badosa. Katarzyna Kawa would also benefit from a Badosa withdrawal and the best dark horse to consider in the bottom part of Quarter 3. Above, however, is more chaos with Mayar Sherif listed to face No. 6 seed Simona Waltert. While Waltert isn’t a bad look, its difficult to see her actually win the event.
For Sherif, she is playing Badosa in the Iasi Open final and therefore may also withdraw. So with potential withdrawals and fatigue issues between a couple of players, Udvardy might be the top choice for now but the idea would be to wait until the draw settles before attacking Quarter 3.
Quarter 4
Anhelina Kalinina is the No. 2 seed and the top name in Quarter 2, given a great opportunity with the draw laid out in front of her. She gets Kaitlin Quevedo in Round 1 which should be a winnable match, followed by a pair of qualifiers, which hopefully isn’t Avanesyan or Pridankina for her sake. However, the quarterfinals will be a big test should Tamara Korpatsch or Nadia Podoroska reach that stage. Of the two, only Korpatsch worries us for any Kalinina bettors out there – but it should be between those two players unless Avanesyan or Pridankina are placed in Quarter 4 which would disrupt things for the top seeds.
