League of Legends is a premier Esport that has leagues located around the world, that culminate and compete in an annual World Championship. There is great talent located around the world, and the World Championship is the main way for that talent to compete against one another.

In this article, I will go through and talk about the 4 major leagues for League of Legends around the world, and introduce you to each of the teams. League of Legends was developed in the United States by Riot Games but is most popular in Asia, and the Asian region as a whole has had the most success in League of Legends. South Korea and China have the best teams in the world and have taken the World Championship title a majority of the time since it began in 2012.

The LCK is the top LEague of Legends league in South Korea and is widely regarded as the best and most competitive league in the world. The League has 10 teams and sends 2 to the World Championship each year. South Korean teams have the most World Championship victories as well and boast the most talented national team. The game is widely played in South Korea competitively and boasts a healthy amount of lower leagues as well.

The League of Legends Pro League is the top league for Chinese competition in League of Legends. The top three finishers in the league get an automatic bid to the World Championships each year. The top 8 teams compete in a tournament at the end of the year to see who can go.
The LPL has had its share of winners and has some of the best League teams in the world, including the defending World Champions, and one of the best leagues overall.

The LEC is the top flight division for the European League of Legends teams. The season for the LEC is split into two parts, spring and summer. They compete for a chance to make it to the World Championship as the representatives of their region. Only the top two teams make it from the LEC each year. Traditionally, G2 Esports and Fnatic have been the most successful teams out of Europe year in and year out, and are the teams to watch that could win it all from Europe.
