The Pick: Chiefs 23, Seahawks 20
We’ll take the Over based on head-to-head trends and Seattle stats at home, while the Chiefs winning outright or covering is supported by various data points.
Game Betting Analysis
The data is pointing towards two possible plays, so we’ll begin with what we like more which is the Over. The Over has hit in three of four meetings, also hitting in five of six home games for the Seahawks. Kansas City has seen the winning team score 30 points or more in three of five games this season, while Seattle has seen the same in four of five games. The ATS is also suggesting Kansas City as the underdog, along with a possible outright win – though, we’re not that courageous. Kansas City has covered the spread in three of four meetings, while Seattle has dropped the spread in five of six games this season, along with the last four games. The Chiefs outright data is what we wouldn’t mind leaning into as well, winning an impressive 11 straight games when facing NFC teams that are on losing streaks, while also winning seven straight games against the NFC West.

Deciding Factor: Seattle’s Elite Pass Rush vs. Kansas City’s Battered Offensive Line
The Seahawks have built one of the most disruptive defenses in football, and it’s lining up against a Chiefs offensive line that’s compromised at the worst possible spot. Seattle ranks No. 2 in the NFL in EPA allowed per play and opponent success rate, sits second in pressure rate per dropback, and is a top-10 unit in both sacks and QB hits — the kind of defensive profile that lives in opposing backfields rather than waiting for mistakes. That’s a problem for Kansas City specifically because both of its starting tackles are compromised: Josh Simmons is still working his way back from injury and Jaylon Moore is in concussion protocol, with both listed questionable, while WR Rashee Rice is also questionable. Patrick Mahomes has been excellent so far (66.5% completion, 1,309 yards, nine touchdowns, plus a rushing score), but his PFF rating has dropped nearly 25 points when he’s played under duress this season — exactly the kind of pressure Seattle’s front is built to generate against a line that isn’t at full strength.
Kansas City, meanwhile, comes in 5-0 and leads the league in net yards per play (+1.9), a number built largely on Mahomes having time to operate — which is precisely what’s in question here. Seattle has its own vulnerabilities that argue for Chiefs optimism: the Seahawks are 3-3 and have lost three of their last four, they rank last in the league in rush EPA and 25th in rush success rate, and quarterback Sam Darnold sits 27th in adjusted EPA per play, meaning Seattle’s own offense may struggle to keep pace even if the defense wins its individual matchup. But defense and the pass rush travel, and if Simmons and Moore can’t hold up on the edges against a unit that’s top-two in the league at generating pressure, Kansas City’s clean 5-0 numbers could look very different by the fourth quarter — if the line holds and Mahomes gets his usual time, the Chiefs’ offensive machine should be enough to protect its first undefeated record of the season on the road.
