👑 Javonte Williams, DAL/RB/MVP ($13,500)
Cowboys lead back Javonte Williams could be in for a repeat of last year’s opener, when he scored two TDs in his Cowboys debut against the Eagles. This time, the veteran RB opens the campaign against a Giants front that struggled badly against the run just a year ago — New York finished 31st out of 32 teams, allowing 145.3 rushing yards per game.
In the age of RB committees, Williams is one of the few backs with virtually no competition for touches. His presumed backup Malik Davis starts the year on injured reserve, leaving Williams as the clear lead back for the foreseeable future. In his lone appearance against the Giants, he finished with 97 rushing yards, a TD, and 6 receptions for 33 yards. He may not be the flashiest player on this Dallas offense, but Williams handles the workload almost entirely on his own and gets the job done.
George Pickens, DAL/WR ($9,800)
The former Georgia standout enters his fifth NFL season after a breakout year alongside Dak Prescott in Dallas. Pickens finished his first season with the Cowboys with 93 catches for 1,429 yards and 9 TDs, ranking top 10 among WRs in each category. He played well in last season’s Week 2 matchup against New York — 5 receptions for 68 yards and a TD — and only got better as the season progressed and his chemistry with Prescott developed.
Playing alongside a superstar like CeeDee Lamb has its tradeoffs, but Prescott spread the ball effectively enough last season that Pickens still carries tremendous value as the WR2. The 25-year-old typically draws the softer coverage assignment while defenses dedicate resources to containing Lamb, making him a discounted stacking option with his QB.
Dak Prescott, DAL/QB ($10,400)
The former fourth-round pick enters his 11th NFL season as QB of America’s Team, coming off a 4,552-yard, 30-TD campaign. He opens the year against the Giants, a team he has faced 17 times in his Dallas tenure, winning 14 of those meetings. Prescott averages 255.6 yards and 1.8 TDs per game against New York and torched their secondary in last season’s lone meeting for 361 yards and 2 TDs in Week 2.
Prescott takes on a secondary that finished 16th against the pass last season but will have new faces across the backline. Sunday’s game carries the third-highest point total of Week 1, and with the Lamb-Pickens tandem at his disposal, Prescott has an advantage against nearly any DB unit in the league. Giants DC Dennard Wilson has publicly stated he wants more aggression and press coverage from his CBs — a style that could backfire badly against two of the better WRs they will face all season.

Brandon Aubrey, DAL/K ($5,400)
Brandon Aubrey has been widely regarded as the best kicker in the NFL heading into this season. The former UFL standout and highest-paid kicker in league history cemented his status among the all-time greats with another exceptional campaign, finishing 36-of-42 on FG attempts with his only misses coming from 50-plus yards.
The former soccer player hit a 64-yard game-tying FG against the Giants in last year’s Week 2 matchup, capping a 4-for-4, 23-fantasy point performance against the division rivals. Sunday marks his fourth trip to MetLife Stadium, a venue historically difficult for kickers. Aubrey is 5-of-7 on FGs and 8-for-8 on extra points there and should see plenty of opportunities with a 48.5-point total set for Sunday night.
Isaiah Likely, NYG/TE ($6,400)
New York’s newest TE is the lone Giants representative in our Sunday Night Football lineup. The former Ravens draft pick makes his Giants debut after a strong training camp alongside sophomore QB Jaxson Dart, with reports out of New York suggesting Likely quickly became one of Dart’s preferred targets — particularly with WR Malik Nabers’ Week 1 status still in question.
If Nabers can’t go, Likely could see a significant target bump in his debut. The Cowboys allowed a 77.6% catch rate to TEs last season, third-highest of any defense in the league. With this game projected to be a shootout, Likely should be involved early and has a chance to make a strong first impression on one of the NFL’s biggest rivalries.
Cowboys D/ST ($4,400)
The Cowboys made several high-profile free-agent additions to address a defense with glaring issues in recent seasons. New York put up 502 scrimmage yards against Dallas in last year’s Week 2 matchup, and the Cowboys finished the season ranked 30th in total defense — prompting the hiring of new DC Christian Parker. Parker is expected to have seven new starters in Week 1, and the Cowboys’ defense could look considerably different from what we’ve seen in recent years.
Dallas’ front seven should be improved against the run-heavy Giants, with the additions of DTs Quinnen Williams and Kenny Clark alongside veteran edge rusher Rashan Gary. The Cowboys also addressed a secondary that ranked last against the pass last season by drafting DB Caleb Downs in the first round. It will be worth watching how Parker’s new-look group holds up against an offense that faded badly in the second half of last season.
The Giants are still searching for an offensive identity, with several young and inexperienced players leading the way. Should Nabers be unavailable on Sunday night, Dallas has even more reason to commit to stopping the run and making Dart beat them through the air.
