The Pick: Commanders 24, Eagles 17
We’ll try the Washington spread based on Philadelphia’s ATS struggles, and the Over based on head-to-head trends and Washington home divisional data.
Game Betting Analysis
Both the Commanders’ spread and the Over are fine to take according to the betting data, so let’s dive into those. The Over has hit in eight straight divisional games for the Commanders, hitting in the last five meetings with the Eagles along with eight of the last nine head-to-heads. Washington also enters this game with a 4-2 O/U mark on the 2026 season. The spread comes down to betting against the Eagles more than betting on the Commanders. Philly has lost seven straight divisional road games outright as the underdog, failing to cover the spread in those same games along with failing to cover the last seven games against the NFC overall. The Eagles enter the game with a terrible 1-6 ATS mark on the 2026 season, so either market has sufficient data to go after.

Deciding Factor: Jayden Daniels’ Zero-Interception Return vs. an Eagles Vanishing Pass Rush
Washington comes out of its Week 7 bye with its best asset fully operational: Jayden Daniels was a full practice participant all week, and his left elbow is officially a non-issue heading into Sunday night. In the four games he’s actually finished this season, Daniels has been close to flawless as a passer — 75-of-116 (64.7%) for 759 yards, 5 touchdowns and zero interceptions — while adding 2 rushing scores that keep defenses honest on every down. A quarterback who hasn’t turned the ball over all season and can extend plays with his legs is exactly the matchup nightmare a shaky pass rush can’t afford, and that’s precisely what Washington is walking into Sunday night.
The Eagles, meanwhile, have the NFL’s 31st-ranked pass rush by sacks per game (1.1), with just 8 total sacks through seven games. Jalen Carter and Nolan Smith Jr. are tied for the team lead with only 3 apiece, and Carter himself called his season “trash” this week, admitting it hasn’t met his own expectations; in last week’s loss to Dallas he was held to zero pressures and zero solo tackles while Dak Prescott sat comfortably in the pocket and the Cowboys ran for 204 yards. The unit has also been reluctant to send extra rushers, leaving its front four to win one-on-one matchups rather than manufacturing pressure with blitz packages, and it now does so without Jihaad Campbell (hamstring/quad), further thinning an already inconsistent rotation. Philadelphia’s defense overall ranks among the league’s worst against the pass (239.9 yards allowed per game, 7th-most) and the run (131.4, 6th-most). If Washington’s offensive line gives Daniels anything close to the clean pocket Prescott enjoyed last week, a pass rush that hasn’t produced more than three sacks from any single player all season has little left to keep him off schedule.
