Top TD Picks: Makai Lemon , Antonio Williams

We’re all set for a matchup of division rivals on Week 8 Sunday Night Football between the Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Commanders. It’s a lost season for the Eagles, as they’re playing out the year without Jalen Hurts. Meanwhile, the Commanders still have a slight hope to contend for the NFC East, but it’s a must-win game for them coming off the bye.

This is projected to be a relatively low-scoring game, as highlighted by the 40.5-point total. That means we’re going to look for a couple of underpriced options rather than laying chalk. To that end, find out why we’re on a pair of rookie wideouts: Makai Lemon and Antonio Williams.

Be sure to check out our NFL betting trends page for data and odds on every game, along with our touchdown props below.

Makai Lemon Touchdown Odds

Makai Lemon is a talented rookie wideout who went in the first round of this year’s draft. After a few weeks of underwhelming usage, where he saw sporadic targets, mostly at the line of scrimmage, we saw Lemon come to life in Week 7. The first-year wideout caught 7-of-8 targets for 67 yards and a touchdown in the Week 7 loss to the Cowboys on Monday Night Football.

With DeVonta Smith out for another game, there’s a good chance that Lemon will once again lead the team in targets. This is an exploitable matchup against a vulnerable Commanders pass defense, which currently ranks 26th in Dropback EPA.

What I like about going with Lemon is that you can get him at longer than +300 odds at the time of this article. Not bad for a guy who’s likely to be the top target in this one.

Antonio Williams Touchdown Odds

Antonio Williams is a rookie wideout who has been working as the No. 3 target for the Commanders for most of the season. But Terry McLaurin suffered a season-ending injury in Week 6. In Week 7, the Commanders had their bye, giving them an opportunity to integrate Williams into the offense more. He’ll be the clear-cut No. 2 target behind Stefon Diggs.

We’ve seen Williams show flashes of upside throughout the year. Think back to the Commanders’ game in London, when he had a long touchdown negated by penalty against the Colts. There’s a legitimate chance that he can make a major impact for the rest of the season.

The Eagles defense has been pretty underwhelming this year, particularly against the pass, where they rank 27th in Dropback EPA. Like Lemon, Williams comes at a nice price considering the exploitable matchup, as you can get him around +300 odds at the time of this article.
