Top TD Picks: Mike Washington Jr. , Travis Hunter
It’s time for the Sunday afternoon Week 8 slate, so we’re going to zone in on two anytime touchdown props. Last week on the Sunday slate, I hit a nice longshot with Mason Taylor. We’re sticking with the longshot theme in Week 8, focusing on one rookie and one second-year player.

Mike Washington Jr (Raiders vs. Jets) Touchdown Odds
The Raiders’ running game has been a massive disappointment this season. I had high hopes that by bringing in Klint Kubiak and Rick Dennison as coaches, along with signing center Tyler Linderbaum, the offensive line would be significantly improved. But that hasn’t been the case at all, as Ashton Jeanty has struggled to find running room.
These struggles have started to shift the usage in this backfield, though. With Jeanty making more of an impact through the air, the Raiders have given Washington more touches compared to earlier in the year. For context, Washington has combined for 15 carries in the last two weeks, including nine vs the Bills.
Washington has a different style than Jeanty. He’s more of a home run hitter. We saw that earlier in the year, when the rookie broke a 36-yard touchdown run against the Saints. Up next is an exploitable matchup against the Jets, who just got gashed on the ground by Ollie Gordon.
This is a bet on price. Of course, Jeanty is the more likely choice to find the end zone, but if he continues to be inefficient on the ground, Kubiak may ride the hot hand with Washington. You can get Washington at longer than +300 odds at the time of this article, making him worth a look here.
Travis Hunter (Jaguars vs. Colts) Touchdown Odds
Travis Hunter is a dual-threat player who primarily sees snaps at cornerback, but he’s starting to see more usage at wide receiver. While it’s still a very minimal role, the fact that he’s getting more snaps there is intriguing. More importantly, Hunter isn’t just getting snaps, but he’s also making a major impact.
We saw that in the Jaguars’ final game before their bye back in Week 6. Hunter hauled in all four of his targets for 59 yards and a touchdown. When he’s on the field, Liam Coen designed plays for him, making him the first-read quite often. So even with a limited role, they’re finding ways to get the ball in his hands.
Brian Thomas Jr. has fallen out of favor in the Jaguars offense. He barely saw the field in Week 6 against the Texans. There’s a chance that Thomas will be traded at the deadline, as there’s no point letting him rot on the bench when you can still get value for him. Given that he’s in a diminished role and potentially on the move, that could mean more routes for Hunter.
Since the Jaguars are coming off the bye, that could have given them more time to integrate Hunter into the offense more. Whenever you watch him, the talent jumps off the screen, so it’s in their best interest to use him more as a wideout compared to before. It’s a smash spot at home against a Colts team in a fire sale, already having traded Quenton Nelson and DeForest Buckner. At +650 odds, this is the type of longshot worth targeting.
