Best Bet: U56.5 (-110) at Hard Rock Bet
Best Bet: FSU +20.5 (-105)
Score Prediction: Miami-Florida 35, FSU 21
The Pick: Miami-Florida 35, FSU 21
We’ll take the Under based on FSU conference trends, head-to-head stats with Miami-Florida, along with 2026 data for the Seminoles.
Game Betting Analysis
All signs point to the Under in this one, so we’ll focus our attention there. FSU goes Under in conference play a lot – hitting the Under in seven of eight games against ACC schools while entering the game with a 2-4 O/U record this season. Our worrying trend is Miami hitting the Over in four of five games this season, but its offset with the Under cashing in the last five meetings between these rivals. FSU also has some data worth testing, as the road team has covered the spread in four straight meetings while Miami has dropped the spread in a stunning 14 of 15 home games when facing a non-AP ranked school as the favorite.

Deciding Factor: Miami’s Explosive Backfield vs. Florida State’s Collapsing Run Defense
No. 3 Miami (5-0) hosts rival Florida State at Hard Rock Stadium as a massive favorite, somewhere around 21 to 21.5 points, with oddsmakers pricing the Hurricanes near -1650 to -2300 on the moneyline. The engine is Heisman candidate Darian Mensah, who has been nearly flawless, completing 84.2% of his passes for 1,438 yards, 15 touchdowns and zero interceptions while adding two more scores on the ground. But Miami’s most dangerous matchup advantage might actually be at running back: Mark Fletcher Jr. (307 yards, 5 touchdowns despite missing a game) and Javian Mallory (289 yards, 3 touchdowns) give Mario Cristobal’s offense a legitimate ground punch to pair with Mensah’s efficiency through the air.
FSU, meanwhile, arrives at 3-3 with the exact weakness Miami’s backfield is built to exploit — a run defense allowing 165.5 yards per game, the seventh-worst rate among Power 4 teams. In all three of FSU’s losses this season (to SMU, Alabama and Louisville), opponents combined to run for 799 yards and nine touchdowns at 7.3 yards per carry, and the collapse was most dramatic two weeks ago at Louisville, when the Seminoles blew a 14-0 lead and surrendered 397 rushing yards and six rushing scores in a 44-20 defeat. The issue is compounded by an injury report that’s gutted the front seven and secondary, with linebackers Blake Nichelson, Izayia Williams, Daylen Green and Noah LaVallee all out alongside defensive backs Karson Hobbs, Jamari Howard and Jordan Crutchfield. Quarterback Ashton Daniels has had his own struggles, completing 59.5% of his passes for 1,320 yards with 8 touchdowns against 7 interceptions, a turnover rate that won’t help in a potential shootout. If FSU’s already-battered run defense can’t find answers for Fletcher and Mallory, Miami should be able to pour it on and cover even a number this large; the only way the Seminoles keep it respectable is if Daniels protects the ball and sustains enough drives to make Miami one-dimensional, but given the talent gap and the injury report, that’s a tall order on the road in a rivalry game Miami should control from the opening whistle.
