Best NBA Saturday Props

  • Onyeka Okongwu Over 20.5 Points + Rebounds
  • Cedric Coward Over 22.5 Points + Rebounds
  • Ajay Mitchell Over 25.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists

Onyeka Okongwu (Hawks vs. Pelicans) Over Points + Rebounds

Okongwu’s stat lines have been all over the map early this season, but the versatile veteran big man is certainly capable of eclipsing 20.5 points + rebounds in the right matchup and with enough playing time. In fact, Okongwu just blew past this number his last time on the floor in a tough on-paper matchup against the Cavaliers on Thursday, posting 41 points + rebounds across 33 minutes on an 11-for-17 tally from the floor, including a 4-for-6 showing from behind the arc.

Okongwu now has an exponentially better scenario in front of him Saturday against the Pelicans, which have surrendered an NBA-high 39.8 offensive efficiency rating to centers, along with surrendering an NBA-high 27.0 points and third-most rebounds (16.4) per game to the position. The Pels are also giving up 57.5% shooting to fives, and although Okongwu spaces the floor with regularity, it’s still worth noting New Orleans has yielded the third-most points in the paint per game (55.6), while 57.1% of Okongwu’s scoring so far has come in that part of the floor.

Cedric Coward (Grizzlies vs. Kings) Over Points + Rebounds

Coward has kicked off his second NBA season in fine form, averaging 14.3 points on 51.1% shooting, including an incandescently hot 68.8% from three-point range. Coward is supplementing the solid scoring average with 9.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.3 steals per contest, and Saturday, he’ll be in a highly appealing matchup while potentially operating without his high-usage backcourt mate, Ty Jerome, who’s questionable due to a lingering back issue.

Coward has averaged 30.6 points + rebounds per 36 minutes when not sharing the floor with Jerome so far in the new season. Coward’s positional matchup against the Kings is also a premium one, as Sacramento is surrendering the fifth-highest offensive efficiency rating to two-guards (29.2) and 50.6% shooting to the position. The Kings are also yielding the eighth-most rebounds per game (56.4) and sixth-highest defensive rebounding rate (75.6%), while Coward is averaging a career-high 8.0 defensive rebounds per contest.

Original Line Publish: 22.5

Ajay Mitchell (Thunder vs. Rockets) Over Points + Rebounds + Assists

Mitchell has been outstanding in the wake of the Thunder’s early-season injury plague, and with Chet Holmgren now being ruled out for multiple weeks due to a patellar tendon tear, there will be even more usage available for Mitchell to absorb. The 2024 second-round pick has worked as a starter over the last two games and thrived, averaging 36.5 points + rebounds + assists while shooting a blistering 61.1% overall. Mitchell has stayed aggressive as well, averaging 24.5 field-goal + free-throw attempts per game in that span.

Mitchell sports a 29.3% usage rate and is averaging 30.3 points + rebounds + assists per 36 minutes this season when all of Holmgren, Jalen Williams (leg) and Cason Wallace (shoulder) have been off the floor this season. Mitchell is also seeing a +9.0-point increase per 36 minutes when not sharing the court with his three teammates, and over their first five games, the Rockets have allowed 48.8% shooting to small forwards, along with the 11th-most points per game to the position (22.6).
