The 2026 PGA Tour golf season continues, with Vidanta Vallarta next on tap to host the Mexico Open at Vidanta, beginning this Thursday. Wyndham Clark, Doug Ghim, and Tom Kim headline among Mexico Open at Vidanta bets this week, as John Haslbauer provides his favorite picks among all the golf odds for this tourney. Below, you’ll find the best odds across betting sites for each player.
The international swing travels cross-continental with a long journey from Bermuda to the Pacific coats of Puerto Vallarta. Mexico’s national open is next on tap, as many of the PGA Tour’s best head to Vidanta Vallarta for the 2026 Mexico Open at Vidanta.
Vidanta Vallarta has a reputation as a bomber’s paradise, but that will be put to question in 2026. Brian Campbell defied the odds to win last year despite beinf one of the shortest hitters in the field, and 20 months later, we’ll see a brand new routing at Vidanta Vallarta that introduced a composite setup and trims the overall yardage by 100 yards. Even still, I expect the course to remain an easy test, especially with winds projected to be down. If that forecast remains true throughout the week, this is a venue where driving distance, approach play, and putting on pure Paspalum greens will make this difference.

How I Built My Mexico Open at Vidanta Betting
Most weeks, I’ll diversify the types of players on my betting card to cover my bases in case the course favors a certain style of player. This week is an exception, however, as we’ve seen the same player style rise to the top of the leaderboard in the first three years on the PGA Tour schedule. I built my betting card around players with elite driving distance, long iron proximity, and proven past results on long, coastal comp courses. It won’t be the exact same setup at Vidanta as we’re used to, but removing 100 yards and calm conditions in the forecast lead me to believe this will be the same old birdie fest as the first four iterations.
From a unit allocation standpoint, it’s back to business as usual for my weekly stake at the 2026 Mexico Open at Vidanta.
- Outrights – 3.5U in to pay 25U each
- FRL – 0.5U in to pay out 10U+ each
- Full Tournament Matchups – 1U in to pay out 2U
- Props – 1.5U in to pay out 3U+ each
Mexico Open at Vidanta Bets: Outrights (3.5 Units)
Ben James
My Bet: +2200
It’s a rare bounce-back week for Ben James, coming off the first missed cut of his impressive early PGA Tour career. Port Royal GC is a quirky course full of unique challenges, so I’m content chalking it off as an outlier performance. Missing the weekend in Bermuda may have proven to be a blessing in disguise for James as well, as he avoided the uncertainty of travel planning and caught an early flight to Puerto Vallarta.
I was dubious about the course fit for James’ game at Port Royal, a course which removes his greatest strength – long iron play – almost entirely. Now at nearly double his odds as last week, James will see a similar distribution of holes as the Biltmore Championship and Bank of Utah Championship where he finished top-5. James ranks No. 1 overall in my model, and remains the hottest ball-striker in this field since he joined the PGA Tour 10 starts ago.
Johnny Keefer
My Bet: +3000
Johnny Keefer checks every “cliche” box I’m looking for at Vidanta Vallarta in terms of distance, approach fit, and Course & Comp Course performance. It was a gradual adjustment period for Keefer, who experienced some growing pains at the game’s highest level after dominating his way through the Korn Ferry Tour in 2025. It’s clear after one full regular season on the PGA Tour though, that Keefer has a type: long, generous, wind-exposed, and relatively easy scoring venues. Keefer’s three top-10 finishes this past season each came on venues that fit that very same description as Vidanta Vallarta, contending at the Texas Children’s Houston Open (T3), The CJ Cup Byron Nelson (T9), and the Genesis Scottish Open (T3).
He seems to be playing with more confidence against lesser competition in the fall too, as he’s opened the Fall Series with finishes of T7, T10, and T33 over his first three starts. Vidanta Vallarta will be the best fit yet for Keefer’s game, as it plays into his strengths of Driving Distance (9th) and will not penalize him for his lack of accuracy off the tee. Ranking 11th overall in my model, Keefer was the first man on my betting card this week, as he is a perfect fit for Vidanta Vallarta’s generous, windy setup, and enters in very promising form relative to the rest of this week’s field.
Blades Brown
My Bet: +3500
Viktor Hovland has earned the nickname of Paspalum Prince with three wins across the Puerto Rico Open and World Wide Technology Championship. Blades Brown may be on his way to stealing his crown though based on his first pass through the PGA Tour’s coastal courses. Brown finished 3rd and T11 in his debuts at the Puerto Rico Open and Corales Puntacana Championship earlier this season. That improves upon his impressive T34 debut at Vidanta last year at the age of 17.
Brown has kept busy across the PGA Tour and Korn Ferry Tour in 2026, but successfully earned his 2027 Tour card after a runner up showing at the Korn Ferry Tour Championship in his most recent start. Few have been more consistent than Brown in his select PGA Tour starts this year though, as he’s finished top-20 in seven of 10 starts this year. A consummate birdie-maker, calm conditions should make this tournament feel like the Korn Ferry Tour venues he’s been dominating all season.
Billy Horschel
My Bet: +6900
We don’t always see Billy Horschel this active in the fall, but at 100th in the FedEx Cup Standings, he has no choice but to keep playing. A steady dosage of weak fields and easy courses seems to be building Horschel’s confidence back up, as he’s now strung together four top-20 finishes over his last six starts.
The approach play has been to thank you for this recent stretch of hot form, as Horschel ranks 3rd in SG: APP and 5th in Approach Fit at Vidanta Vallarta. He also ranks 5th in Go-Low Percentage, which measures the percentage of rounds in which a player posts 4-under-par or better. Paspalum is a welcome sight for Horschel too, as his most recent PGA Tour win came on this surface at the 2024 Corales Puntacana Championship.
Emiliano Grillo
My Bet: +10000
The best value by my numbers this week relative to his odds is Emiliano Grillo, who ranks 6th overall in my model. Grillo has thrived on coastal, windy courses throughout his career, and is an intriguing buy-low option after a T52 showing in Bermuda last week; he was top-10 through the first two rounds, but fell precipitously after a 3-over-par showing on Saturday.
Vidanta sets up well for a bounce-back from the Argentinian, who has made the cut in all four prior installments of the Mexico Open here, including a T5 in 2023. There is plenty of correlation between Vidanta and TPC Deere Run, the site of Brian Campbell’s other PGA Tour win, and that happened to come at the expense of Grillo in a playoff. Ranking 6th in the field in Approach Fit at Vidanta, Grillo is a sneaky great course fit, and has always putted well on the Paspalum greens in Mexico.
Kihea Akina
My Bet: +10000
If you’re looking for the discounted version of Ben James this week, Akina’s flawless start to his young PGA Tour career has continued to fly under the radar from an odds perspective. The 20-year-old from Utah has just four PGA Tour starts under his belt this year, but he’s made them count with finishes of T16, 81st, 9th, and T17. Two of those finishes have come in comparable coastal conditions at the Puerto Rico Open and the Butterfield Bermuda Championship, so another resort course on the docket is nothing new for him.
While the sample size is tiny, Akina’s path to contention has been encouraging, as he’s separated from the field with his total driving, approach play, and putting. Early signs would suggest his game is built to attack easy scoring venues, as he ranks top-10 in this field in go-low percentage. He’ll look to make it three consecutive top-20 finishes in Mexico this week.
Cam Davis
My Bet: +24000
Brian Campbell taught us last year that no longshot is too crazy to win at Vidanta. A two-time PGA Tour winner and former Presidents Cupper, there’s no doubt that Davis’ talent outweighs his price this week. And while 2026 has been downright forgettable for Davis, we saw a glimpse of his potential at the Butterfield Bermuda Championship last week, where he finished T11 and gained across each of the four strokes gained categories.
Davis’ two wins at Detroit Golf Club support he is best suited to attack easy, driver-heavy courses that forgive wayward misses off the tee. Having gained strokes on approach in six of his last seven starts, there is a path for Davis to parlay his best finish of 2026 into sustained momentum here in his Mexico Open at Vidanta debut.
Mexico Open at Vidanta Bets: First Round Leader (0.5 Units)
Zach Bauchou
My Bet: +5000
A standout star in the fall this season, Bauchou is one of the hottest players in this field, still in search of his first career PGA Tour win. I have my reservations about his win equity still, but with four consecutive top-25s and three top-15s over that span, I’m riding the hot hand early with Bauchou in round 1.
Kevin Roy
My Bet: +6000
Similar to Bauchou, there is so much to love about Roy on paper, but the weekend performances have caused me to shy away from backing him across the full tournament. Vidanta Vallarta is Roy’s No. 1 course by historic strokes gained, and he enters this week in better form than ever before with six top-30s over his last seven starts.
Billy Horschel
My Bet: +7000
A men amongst boys in this fall series field, Horschel will enter with the confidence of an 8-time PGA Tour winner in great form, with four top-20 finishes over his last six starts. That includes back-to-back top-20s in the fall, where he’s leaned on his strengths of approach play and putting to separate. We know Horschel can handle a coastal Paspalum setup as well, picking up his most recent win at the Corales Puntacana Championship in 2024.
Emiliano Grillo
My Bet: +7500
One of the true coastal elites on the PGA Tour, Grillo routinely plays his best when you add wind. I have some questions around how his putter will hold up over the weekend, but there’s no question he has spike scoring upside. Grillo is top-15 in R1 Scoring and suits the course profile well at Vidanta Vallarta.
Denny McCarthy
My Bet: +7500
McCarthy was robbed of an opportunity to contend in Bermuda when the tournament was cut short, as he was just three strokes off the lead through three rounds. Back-to-back top-30s in the fall is an encouraging sign for the best putter in this field, and if Vidanta Vallarta proves to be the birdie fest I’m expecting, he’ll stand to capitalize on a putting contest.
Mexico Open at Vidanta Bets: Props (2.5 Units)
Full Tournament Matchup: Emiliano Grillo > Patrick Rodgers
My Bet: -110
Few have faded Patrick Rodgers at Vidanta and lived to tell about it. He is No. 1 in course history here, with three top-10s and a T25 over the first four years at the Mexico Open. A scheduling change may hurt his cause however, has Rodgers has typically rode the form of the west coast swing into this event. The form is nowhere to be found for Rodgers now, as he’s gained strokes ball striking in just one of his last eight starts.
Grillo on the other hand, is beginning to percolate with his irons and putting, and has a good track record in his own right at Vidanta Vallarta; he’s gained on the greens in all four prior appearances, including a T5 in 2023. I’m taking the side of recent form and ball-striking consistency in this matchup.
Top-20 Finish: Billy Horschel
My Bet: +300
Pedigree has prevailed at Vidanta, as proven, experienced players like Tony Finau and Jon Rahm have thrived as the adults in the room in this weaker-field event. Horschel has been a top-20 machine of late, with four such finishes over his last six starts. The approach and putting form seem to signal yet another top-20 floor at this favorable course setup.
Top-20 Finish: Emiliano Grillo
My Bet: +380
Grillo has been the player I see the most value in this week, as his underlying metrics on an easy, coastal, Paspalum setup would seem to bring out the best in his game. From a tee-to-green form and course fit standpoint, there’s plenty to like about the Argentenian’s fit at Vidanta Vallarta. And with few other proven commodities in this field, his talent and experience alone should give him top-20 expectations from the start.
