Myles Garrett Trade to Los Angeles Rams Impacts Futures Markets
Well, the most shocking trade of the NFL offseason — and perhaps of all time — went down on June 1 as the Cleveland Browns traded Myles Garrett to the Los Angeles Rams.
The full compensation included the following:
- Rams receive: Myles Garrett.
- Browns receive: Jared Verse, 2027 1st-round pick, 2028 2nd-round pick, and a 2029 3rd-round pick
With a trade of this magnitude, this has certainly changed up futures odds for both teams and Garrett’s Defensive Player of the Year odds.
Los Angeles Rams Futures Odds
Los Angeles Rams Super Bowl Odds
Rams to Win Super Bowl:
The Rams were already atop the Super Bowl odds, but they’ve become even more solidified at +600. The next closest team is the Buffalo Bills at +1000.
It’s hard to argue that the Rams are the runaway favorites for the Super Bowl.
Not only did they add Garrett, a player who will single-handedly change games and convert pressures into sacks, but they also added two cornerbacks in Trent McDuffie and Jaylen Watson. This shores up all of their weaknesses.
Then on offense, they have Matthew Stafford coming off an MVP and a duo of Davante Adams and Puka Nacua at receiver.
There’s also a chance we’ll see the Rams bring in another receiver such as Stefon Diggs.
This is a super team.
Los Angeles Rams NFC Conference Odds
Rams to Win NFC Championship:
The Rams are now +330 to win the NFC after the trade. Just behind them are the Seattle Seahawks at +570.
Remember, the Rams and Seahawks played three competitive games in 2025-26. These games included a 21-19 Rams win, a 38-37 Seahawks overtime win, and a 31-27 Seahawks home playoff win in the NFC title game.
The Seahawks lost some defensive back depth and had to replenish their running game with a rookie in Jadarian Price.
Now, Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold will have to worry about Garrett coming off the edge twice per season.
Los Angeles Rams NFC West Odds
Rams to Win NFC West:
The Rams are sizable NFC West favorites at +100. The Seahawks are the next closest at +180. In terms of strength of schedule, the Rams do have the fifth-hardest schedule, but the Seahawks aren’t too far behind.
When pressured, Darnold completed 50.8% of his passes and had 10 turnover-worthy plays.
With Garrett bearing down on him twice per season, I wouldn’t be shocked to see the Rams win both regular-season games.
Los Angeles Rams Win Total Odds
Rams Win Total Odds:
Before this trade, the Rams’ win total was 11.5 games, and I picked the over. That number is still 11.5. With the addition, I’m even more comfortable selecting the over. This is an incredibly massive defensive addition.
Los Angeles Rams Odds to Make the Playoffs
Rams to Make the Playoffs:
Following the trade, the Rams are now -440 to make the playoffs. The next closest team is the Baltimore Ravens at -370.
At this point, it would be a shock to see the Rams (pending injuries, of course) not make the playoffs.
While -440 odds isn’t something I’d wager on, this is one that I’d lock in right now.
Cleveland Browns Futures Odds
Cleveland Browns Super Bowl Odds
Browns to Win Super Bowl:
The Browns are +15000 to win the Super Bowl, which is tied for the third-worst odds. Even with Garrett, this wasn’t any different. The Browns are not a team that’ll be competing for a Super Bowl title any time soon.
They still have to figure out the long-term quarterback. Their roster features Deshaun Watson, Shedeur Sanders, Dillon Gabriel, and Taylen Green.
Cleveland Browns AFC Conference Odds
Browns to Win AFC Championship:
The Browns are +7600 to win the AFC, tied for the second-worst odds with the New York Jets and Las Vegas Raiders.
They don’t have a stable quarterback. While I believe the trade is great for them long-term, they now have a technically worse pass rusher than Garrett in Verse (though he’s still young and promising).
Cleveland Browns AFC North Odds
Browns to Win AFC North:
The Browns are +1900 to win the AFC North. This is another one I just can’t foresee happening. The Cincinnati Bengals have one of the easiest schedules in the NFL; the Pittsburgh Steelers will remain solid under Aaron Rodgers and head coach Mike McCarthy; and the Baltimore Ravens will bounce back after a down season.
Also, none of the quarterbacks in this division have to deal with Garrett now.
The Browns winning the division will be a surprise.
Cleveland Browns Win Total Odds
Browns Win Total Odds:
The Browns’ win total was set at 5.5 games, and I did take the over. I do think they’ll be a team closer to around seven wins, but I believe their quarterback limits them.
The Browns still have a strong defense with Verse and a core of young skill-position players such as K.C. Concepcion and Denzel Boston.
Their line has moved up to 6.5 games, but they’re +175 to go over.
Given that value, I’d wager a half-unit on the off-chance Watson starts and is average.
Browns Odds to Make the Playoffs
Browns to Make the Playoffs:
There are only four teams with worse odds to make the playoffs than the Browns at +400. Their best shot is a Wild Card spot, but that would mean performing well enough to finish at least third in the AFC North and hoping the other divisions lag.
The Browns are a 6-7 win team. They’ll improve from last season, but they’ll miss the playoffs.
Myles Garrett Defensive Player of the Year Odds
Myles Garrett to Win DPOY:
Now with the Rams, Garrett is +450 to repeat as the Defensive Player of the Year. Behind him are Maxx Crosby, Aidan Hutchinson, and Will Anderson Jr. at +800.
Last season, Verse posted 80 pressures for the Rams, and Garrett had 84 with the Browns. Verse finished with 7.5 sacks, and Garrett broke the single-season record with 23.
Now, he’s on a Rams team that will win a bunch of games and be ahead a lot. This means that more teams will be playing from behind, allowing Garrett more chances to rush the passer than ever before.
Garrett was tied for seventh in the NFL in pass rushing snaps with 507, while Verse had 523. Garrett is getting older, but he’s showing no signs of slowing down.
I’m picking Garrett to win the award.
