The Pick: Lakers 119, Warriors 115
We’ll take the Lake Show spread based on head-to-head trends along with outright data for Los Angeles when facing divisional opponents.
Game Betting Analysis
The data is all over the Lakers for this one, so we’ll focus our attention there. The Lake Show has won four straight games outright when facing Dub Nation, covering the spread in all four games as well. The favorite has covered the spread in four of five meetings between the Lakers and Warriors, along with six of the last eight head-to-heads. Inside Chase Center, Lake Show has won the 1H in the last four games, while Los Angeles has also won seven straight divisional games outright. There is some merit in the Under as well, hitting in four of five home games for the Warriors along with three of four meetings with Los Angeles, but the conviction is higher in the Lake Show covering here.

Deciding Factor: Lakers’ Doncic-Kessler Combo vs. Warriors’ Thinned-Out Wing Depth
Luka Dončić has been playing at an MVP level to open the season — 36.0 points, 6.8 rebounds and 8.3 assists per game on .484/.396 shooting through four outings, including a 52-point night at Utah and a 41-point, 9-assist performance against Portland — and he’s getting real help up front from new addition Walker Kessler, who’s averaging 15.8 points, 8.0 rebounds and 2.8 blocks on a scorching 78.4% shooting clip. That combination was already enough to blow past Golden State once this season, a 127-105 win on Oct. 21 in which Kessler went a perfect 12-of-12 from the floor for 26 points and Dončić added 28 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Dončić was briefly questionable with back tightness but is off the injury report entirely for Friday’s rematch, and with the Lakers sitting at 3-1, the formula that worked the first time is intact.
The Warriors, meanwhile, are trying to win with a rotation that’s lost two real contributors — Jimmy Butler III is out for an extended stretch after ACL surgery, and Moses Moody is also out following patellar tendon surgery, leaving Golden State without two of its top perimeter options. Stephen Curry is still doing Stephen Curry things, averaging 28.8 points a game and torching Minnesota for 44 points (16-of-16 from the line) in the last game out, but the supporting cast behind him has been inconsistent, with rookie Yaxel Lendeborg (22.6 points per game) emerging as the clearest complementary scorer. Golden State has won two straight since that blowout loss to the Lakers, so the formula isn’t broken, but if Curry can’t once again carry a depleted wing rotation against the frontcourt combination that dominated them two weeks ago, this could get away from them again; if Lendeborg and the bench keep producing like they did in Denver and Minnesota, the Warriors have enough to make this a real game.
