2026 World Cup Venues & Locations: USA, Canada, & Mexico
The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be played across 16 venues in the United States, Mexico, and Canada, making it the largest World Cup ever hosted. From iconic stadiums in New York and Los Angeles to historic soccer cities like Mexico City and Toronto, fans will see matches played across some of the biggest sports venues in North America.
The tournament runs from June 11 through July 19 and will feature a record 48 teams and 104 matches. Each host city will play a major role throughout the tournament, with several stadiums set to host knockout matches, semifinals, and the World Cup Final. Below, we break down every 2026 World Cup venue and location, including stadium details, host cities, and which matches each venue will host.
Where Will the 2026 World Cup Be Played?
There are 16 host cities across the three host countries. The USA is hosting the majority of the 104 matches to be played, with 78 games being played across 11 US cities. Each city provides its own unique experience for fans and spectators, with matches played in some of the world’s most impressive sporting venues.
While the USA provides the glamour, Mexico brings history and scenery. Estadio Azteca in Mexico City will become the first venue in World Cup history to host matches in three different editions. Alongside Mexico’s national stadium, few sporting venues in the world can match the backdrop of Monterrey’s Estadio BBVA, situated next to the scenic Cerro de la Silla.
Canada provides Toronto’s BMO Field, one of the few World Cup venues purposely built to host soccer matches. BC Place in Vancouver is the second Canadian venue to be used for the 2026 World Cup.

Note that many stadiums will be known by their City name, rather than their advertising name. This is due to FIFA’s advertising and sponsorship regulations. We’ve stated where a temporary name change for the World Cup will take place in each venue.
USA World Cup Venues
From iconic NFL stadiums to purpose-built soccer environments, the USA’s host cities will stage the majority of World Cup 2026 matches across some of the biggest and most recognizable sporting venues in the world.
Boston, Massachusetts
- Stadium: Gillette Stadium
- Capacity: 65,000
- Matches: 7
- Region: East
Boston brings one of the most established sports markets in the U.S. to the World Cup. Gillette Stadium, home to the New England Patriots, is a large-capacity venue regularly used for international soccer matches. For the duration of the World Cup, the venue will be known as the Boston Stadium.
New York/New Jersey
- Stadium: MetLife Stadium
- Capacity: 82,500

A venue that has hosted numerous high-profile sporting events, MetLife Stadium is hosting eight 2026 World Cup matches. Home to NFL sides New York Giants and New York Jets, the multi-purpose venue hosted the FIFA Club World Cup Final in 2025. MetLife Stadium will also host the 2026 World Cup Final. Philadelphia
- Stadium: Lincoln Financial Field

With a capacity of almost 70,000, Lincoln Financial Field is one of the largest stadiums being used in the World Cup. Home to the NFL’s Philadelphia Eagles, as well as the Temple Owls football team in the NCAA, the venue will host six World Cup matches – five Group Stage games and one Round of 16 fixture. For the World Cup, the venue will be called the Philadelphia Stadium.
Miami

Renowned for hosting huge sporting events, Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium will be hosting seven World Cup matches. The Hard Rock Stadium will also host the Third Place Playoff game on July 18th. For the duration of the World Cup, the venue will be called the Miami Stadium.
Atlanta
- Stadium: Mercedes-Benz Stadium
- Capacity: 75,000

With a capacity expandable up to 75,000, the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta is one of the biggest stadiums being used for the 2026 World Cup. Atlanta will host eight World Cup matches, including a Semi-Final on July 15th. The stadium is home to a variety of sports clubs, including Atlanta United F.C of the MLS and the Atlanta Falcons in the NFL. It will also become home to Atlanta’s new NWSL side from 2028. During the World Cup, the Mercedes-Benz Stadium will be known as the Atlanta Stadium.
Kansas City
- Stadium: Arrowhead Stadium

Home of the NFL’s Kansas City Chiefs, Arrowhead Stadium has also hosted numerous soccer matches in recent years. There are six World Cup games due to be played in Kansas City, including one game at the quarterfinal stage. Throughout the World Cup, the venue will be called the Kansas City Stadium.
Houston
- Stadium: NRG Stadium
- Capacity: 72,000
- Matches: 7

Another venue that has hosted a variety of top sporting events, the NRG Stadium in Houston, will also host seven World Cup matches in 2026. In addition to five Group games, this venue will also host a Round of 32 and a Round of 16 fixture. It’s the home of the NFL’s Houston Texans, but it has hosted soccer matches before, including many USMNT home fixtures. For the World Cup, the NRG Stadium will be called the Houston Stadium.
Dallas
- Stadium: AT&T Stadium
- Capacity: 94,000
- Matches: 9

The AT&T Stadium is hosting nine World Cup 2026 matches, more than any other stadium. This venue also has the biggest capacity of any stadium being used for the 2026 World Cup, with an expandable capacity of up to 94,000. The venue is hosting some of the most exciting Group games, including two games featuring the reigning World Cup Champions, Argentina. The home of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys, the AT&T Stadium has also hosted soccer and basketball games. For the World Cup, the AT&T Stadium will be known as the Dallas Stadium.
Los Angeles

The home venue of NFL sides Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Chargers, the SoFi Stadium, will host eight World Cup 2026 games. The USMNT will play two of the Group D matches at this venue, including their opener against Paraguay, with the SoFi Stadium also hosting a quarterfinal match. For the World Cup, the SoFi Stadium will be renamed as the Los Angeles Stadium.
Seattle
- Stadium: Lumen Field

As the home of MLS side Seattle Sounders FC and NWSL team Seattle Reign FC, Lumen Field has regularly hosted soccer matches. NFL side Seattle Seahawks also play their home fixtures at this venue, which has also hosted CONCACAF Gold Cup and Champions League fixtures. The USMNT will play their Group D game against Australia at this venue, which will be known as the Seattle Stadium throughout the World Cup tournament.
San Francisco Bay Area

Located in Santa Clara, Levi’s Stadium has hosted a range of sporting events, including Wrestlemania, the Super Bowl, and NCAA events. It will also host six World Cup 2026 games, including a Round of 32 fixture yet to be determined. Home of the iconic San Francisco 49ers of the NFL, Levi’s Stadium will be renamed as the San Francisco Bay Area Stadium for the World Cup.
Mexico World Cup Venues

Mexico City

- Capacity: 83,000

Mexico has three stadiums hosting World Cup 2026 fixtures. Estadio Azteca in Mexico City is hosting five games, including Mexico’s opening fixture against South Africa and the final Group game against Czechia. Estadio Azteca is synonymous with world soccer, hosting a variety of prestigious games, including two World Cup Finals. This venue is also the national stadium of the Mexican soccer team. When Mexico plays South Africa in their Group A opener, Estadio Azteca will become the first venue in history to host World Cup games from three different editions. The stadium will be renamed the Mexico City Stadium
Monterrey
- Stadium: Estadio BBVA
- Capacity: 53,500

Home of Liga MX side CF Monterrey, Estadio BBVA will host four World Cup 2026 matches. Amongst these games is the fixture between South Africa and South Korea, two of Mexico’s opponents in Group A. The stadium will also host a Round of 32 match yet to be determined. For the World Cup, Estadio BBVA is being renamed to Monterrey Stadium.
Guadalajara

Estadio Akron has hosted a number of international soccer matches, including many of Mexico’s fixtures. The venue is also home to Liga MX side C.D Guadalajara. Estadio Akron will host four Group games at the 2026 World Cup, including Mexico’s second Group A fixture against South Korea. For the World Cup, Estadio Akron will be renamed as Guadalajara Stadium.
Canada World Cup Venues
Canada’s venues offer a modern soccer experience, with two major cities hosting matches in stadiums known for strong fan support and international tournament experience.
Toronto
- Stadium: BMO Field
- Capacity: 45,000
- Matches: 6

Moving into Canada, BMO Field is one of the few stadiums being used in the 2026 World Cup that was specifically designed to host soccer matches. It is the home of MLS side Toronto FC and has previously hosted some of Canada’s international soccer matches. With a capacity of just over 45,000, it’s the smallest venue being used in this year’s World Cup. The stadium will host six matches, including Canada’s opening Group B fixture against Bosnia and Herzegovina. For the World Cup, the stadium will be temporarily known as the Toronto Stadium.
Vancouver
- Stadium: BC Place
- Capacity: 54,000

BC Place in Vancouver will be hosting seven World Cup 2026 matches. Home to the Vancouver Whitecaps of MLS, BC Place has hosted numerous international soccer matches too, including Canada’s men’s and women’s team fixtures. BC Place will be hosting two of Canada’s Group B fixtures, against Qatar and Switzerland. It will also be the venue of a yet-to-be-determined Round of 16 fixture. As the stadium name isn’t sponsored, BC Place is the only World Cup 2026 stadium to keep its original name.
World Cup Stadiums Hosting the Biggest Matches
The latter stages of World Cup 2026, specifically the quarterfinal stages and beyond, will all be held in the USA. Before that, all host nations are playing their Group games on home soil. The USA is playing twice in Los Angeles and once in Seattle. Mexico is playing two games at their national stadium, Estadio Azteca, with their second Group game at Estadio Akron. Canada’s opener will be held at BMO Field, with their remaining Group games at BC Place.
New York/New Jersey Stadium
The New York/New Jersey Stadium (MetLife Stadium) will host the 2026 World Cup Final. Synonymous with the world’s biggest sporting events, this will make a fantastic venue for soccer’s most prestigious event.
Dallas Stadium
Along with hosting more World Cup matches than any other venue, Dallas is hosting the first semifinal to be played on July 14th. With a capacity of almost 100,000, we’re expecting an electric atmosphere as the two sides look to reach the Final.
Atlanta Stadium
Atlanta will be hosting the second World Cup semifinal on July 15th. Renowned for hosting huge sports events, the AT&T Stadium is an excellent choice of a semifinal venue.
Mexico City Stadium
Estadio Azteca will host the opening fixture of the World Cup. Mexico takes on South Africa, which is likely to give the co-hosts the advantage of playing in front of over 80,000 roaring home fans.
Los Angeles Stadium
The USA opens its World Cup campaign against Paraguay at the SoFi Stadium. They will return to Los Angeles for their final Group game against Turkiye. Playing in front of a home crowd will be a huge advantage for Mauricio Pochettino’s side, particularly if they need a result to progress into the Knockout Stages.
Seattle Stadium
Sandwiched between the group fixtures in Los Angeles is the USMNT’s game against Australia at Lumen Field. Seattleites are famous for creating incredible, thunderous atmospheres, something that could have a huge impact on the USA’s fortunes in this fixture.
