Los Angeles Lakers vs. Phoenix Suns Preview
Two teams that are in major need of a win face off tonight as the Los Angeles Lakers (25-24) host the Phoenix Suns (11-40) tonight.
The Lakers have lost their last three games and are 4-6 in their last 10 games. They are currently in ninth place in the West, and with Sacramento and Minnesota on their heels, they’ll hope to keep from sliding down even more. LeBron James has been ruled out for tonight’s game.
The Suns seem to be frontrunners along with the Cleveland Cavaliers and New York Knicks at landing the number one draft pick this summer. They have lost their last seven and are 2-8 in their last 10 games.
On December 2, with LeBron James playing, the Lakers won their most recent game in the season series against the Suns 120-96. Kyle Kuzma led the way with 23 points.

Lakers Analysis
The Lakers have won just five of 15 games with LeBron James out, and tonight will be game number 16. James will have a heavy burden of trying to get the Lakers into a better playoff position when he returns, likely sometime next week.
The Lakers last three losses have come against some quality teams. They lost in overtime by four points against the Houston Rockets but got blown out by both the Golden State Warriors and Minnesota Timberwolves.
James and Lonzo Ball remain out, but the Lakers did get Rajon Rondo back and he had 15 points and 13 assists against the Wolves. Kyle Kuzma, who was limited against Minnesota is listed as questionable for tonight.

Suns Analysis
Not much has gone right for the Phoenix Suns this season, but they are likely already dreaming of a potential DeAndre Ayton-Zion Williamson frontcourt combo.
Kelly Oubre has continued to play well since being traded by Washington. He had 18 points, seven assists, and six rebounds in their most recent loss to the Portland Trail Blazers.
Phoenix has turned to little-used center Dragan Bender, who was the fourth overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, with Ayton out. Bender is averaging 14 points per game in his last four games, about 10 more points than his season average.
Currently, it’s been up to Devin Booker to carry this team, but he will need more help. Mikal Bridges and Josh Jackson have started recently and both frequently fall under the double-digit scoring mark, and De’Anthony Melton has been even further under that mark.

With Kyle Kuzma questionable for tonight, Rajon Rondo ($6.7k) and Devin Booker ($8.3k) are fantasy standouts. Rondo is expected to continue to play well since his return and is projected for 35.91 points. Fan Duel has Booker projected for 39.52 fantasy points.
Rondo definitely qualifies as a value player, but Ivica Zubac is another option. For Phoenix, Kelly Oubre ($6k) is projected for 29.93 points.
