Portland Trail Blazers vs. Oklahoma City Thunder Preview

The Oklahoma City Thunder (28-18) will look for their third straight win when they take on the Portland Trail Blazers (28-19) from the Chesapeake Energy Arena tonight in Western Conference matchup.

The Thunder are third in the Western Conference and have split their last 10. They are a half-game ahead of Portland, who have won their last three but are 7-3 in their last 10. The Blazers have been climbing up the standings and a win over Oklahoma City would put them in third place.

Blazers Analysis

Portland Trail Blazers

After losing two straight, the Blazers went on a three-game winning streak with big wins over the Cleveland Cavaliers and New Orleans Pelicans, and a 109-104 win over the Jazz yesterday.

Blazers coach Terry Stotts will have to monitor the minutes of his starting backcourt of Lillard and C.J. McCollum after they played heavy minutes yesterday.

Things looked bleak for the Trail Blazers when they only managed 15 points in the second quarter, but they came out of the half refreshed and put up 39.

Defensively, Portland allowed Donovan Mitchell to score 36 points, but they limited the other starters.

Lillard led Portland with a near triple-double, finishing with 26 points, nine rebounds, and eight assists.

Thunder Analysis

Oklahoma City Thunder

Oklahoma City has bounced back after an overtime loss to the Los Angeles Lakers to win two straight. On Saturday, they had a two-point win over the Philadelphia 76ers, and yesterday they topped the New York Knicks 127-109.

Unlike Portland, only two starters played over 30 minutes with the Thunder coasting to the win after outscoring the Knicks by 16 points in the first quarter.

Paul George continued his hot streak with 31 points, and Dennis Schroeder, who has played well as of late, finished with 17 points. Russell Westbrook played just 29 minutes and still nearly managed a triple-double with 17 points, 10 rebounds, and nine assists.
