The Spurs will put their five-game winning streak on the line tonight. They are 7-3 in their last 10 games and are 32-22 on the season, good enough for fifth place in the Western Conference. Sacramento is ninth in the West and on a two-game winning streak. They have won six of their last 10 games and are 27-25 overall.

The last time the Kings and Spurs met, Sacramento took the win 104-99 on November 12. The Kings were led by Bogdan Bogdanovic, who had 22 points. Spurs Analysis

San Antonio SpursThe San Antonio Spurs have had moments of brilliance this season and moments where they look like they are a team with eight new players that lost their franchise player. They did their job and won at home prior to the start of the Rodeo Road Trip, but in their fifth consecutive win against New Orleans on Saturday night, they showed flashes of both teams on the same night.

They got off to a roaring start, scoring 35 points in the first quarter and they seemed to have a comfortable lead into the fourth quarter against the undermanned Pelicans. Then they let Frank Jackson go off and could only manage 19 points in the fourth as the Pelicans nearly rallied back. It would’ve been the second time they surprised a top Western Conference team last week, but the Spurs were able to secure the 113-108 win.

With DeMar DeRozan going back through a shooting slump, LaMarcus Aldridge once again came up big for the Spurs with 25 points and 14 rebounds. Rudy Gay and Marco Belinelli added 17, while DeRozan was limited to 13 points.

Derrick White, who had been on fire as of late for San Antonio struggled on Saturday and he has been ruled out of tonight’s game. Without arguably their best wing defender, the Spurs will have a tall task ahead and defending De’Aaron Fox and Buddy Hield.

Kings Analysis

Sacramento KingsOn paper, the Sacramento Kings may look like an underdog tonight, even at home, but the young Kings have not paid much attention to what should happen lately. They started their two-game winning streak with a 22-point win over the Atlanta Hawks last Wednesday and then played spoiler in a 115-108 win over the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday night.

Buddy Hield has been an absolute marksman for the Kings lately, and he led Sacramento in the win with 34 points. De’Aaron Fox bounced back from a rough performance against Atlanta to finish with 19 points and eight assists against the 76ers.

Rookie Marvin Bagley, who many questioned as being NBA-ready, has played very well for the Kings lately. He’s reached double figures in scoring in 10 of his last 11 games, and he’s also been a monster on the boards lately, with 12 against the Hawks and 13 against Philadelphia.

Another Kings big man, Willie Cauley-Stein, had averaged 11 points per game in January but broke out for 19 points against Philadelphia. Considering he was matched up against Joel Embiid, the Kings coaching staff has to be pleased with what they saw, especially since he has been brought up in trade rumors lately.
