Toronto Raptors at Atlanta Hawks 2/7/19: Starting Lineups, Matchup Preview, Betting Odds
Toronto Raptors at Atlanta Hawks Preview
The Toronto Raptors have been mentioned in trade rumors recently, and even with the drama surrounding DeMar DeRozan’s trade over the Summer, those rumors have not appeared to have affected the team or the team chemistry as they prepare for a road game tonight against the Atlanta Hawks.
The Raptors have won their last two games, are 6-4 in their last 10 games and are 39-16 on the season. They are just two games behind the Milwaukee Bucks for first place in the Eastern Conference. The Hawks have not had quite the successes the Raptors have experienced this season. They sit at 12th in the East with an 18-35 record. They have split their last 10 games, but are also entering tonight’s game on a two-game winning streak.
The Raptors and Hawks last played in Toronto on January 8, and the Hawks just escaped with a win as Vince Carter could not knock down the game-tying three-point attempt in a 104-101 win for the Raptors. Kawhi Leonard led the Raptors with 31 points and six assists, and second-year Hawk John Collins led Atlanta with 21 points and 14 rebounds.

Raptors Analysis
After losing to the first place Bucks last Thursday, the Raptors have won two straight, a 121-103 win over the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday and an impressive 119-107 win over the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday night.
The Raptors got out of the gates quick to put 40 points on the 76ers in the first quarter, leaving Philadelphia in a hole they could not dig themselves out of, even after limiting Toronto to 19 fourth-quarter points.
Toronto was led by Kawhi Leonard, who had 24 points and seven rebounds in the win. Serge Ibaka continues to impress, and while he had his hands fill with Joel Embiid, who had 37 points and 13 rebounds, Ibaka did well for himself with his 20 point, 10 rebound night in just 27 minutes of playing time.
A total of six Raptors players reached double digits in scoring. Sharing in the defensive duties of guarding Embiid was Greg Monroe, who came off the bench with 10 points and seven rebounds, and Norman Powell was also solid with 14 points as part of the second unit.
While Kyle Lowry has been mentioned in trade reports involving Memphis and Mike Conley, Lowry continues to be a leader for the Raptors and has played well. He reiterated recently that his goal was to stay in Toronto and win a championship.

Hawks Analysis
The Hawks will be looking to extend their winning streak to three games tonight, but while they picked up their most recent wins against the Phoenix Suns and Washington Wizards, the Raptors should pose more of a challenge.
In their 137-129 win over the Wizards on Monday, they used a balanced scoring attack with nine players scoring 10 or more points. The Hawks outscored the Wizards by 15 points in the first quarter, and while the last two quarters were a shootout, with the Hawks scoring 76 points and Atlanta scoring 72, the damage had been done early.
Taurean Prince led all Hawks scorers with 21 points, but several other players had double-doubles. John Collins had 15 points and 11 rebounds, Trae Young finished with 10 points and 10 assists.
While the Hawks have struggled this season, they have to be encouraged by the play of their rookies, including Young, but Kevin Huerter has been a nice surprise. He had 19 points on Monday and Omari Spellman had 16 points and 10 rebounds against the Wizards.

The over/under is 233 points and the moneyline has stayed steady at -420 for Toronto. Against the spread, the Raptors are 24-16-15 and the Hawks are 24-14-15.
